From Cameron cutting and running after the Brexit Vote, Teresa May overseeing the worst of infighting because of Brexit, Where to start with Boris Johnson...this guy makes Donald Trump look like a pillar of Society. The worst PM we have ever had and a pathological liar. Over 230,000 deaths from his mismanagement of Covid (Who can forget his "let the bodies pile high" comment Party's in Downing Street when everyone else was on lockdown, Using Tax payers money for super expensive wallpaper. This not even the tip of the iceberg regarding this moron.
Then we had Liz Truss, This genius managed to bring the UK to its financial knees in just 49 days. Mortgage payers will be paying for her policies for years to come.
Actually didn't mind Rishi, if he came after Cameron I think the country would have been OK....but the utter clusterf uck that is the Tories went about 13 years of damage, sleaze, the deaths of thousamds, mismanagement and utter contempt for the working popuation, and as they always do, ,make sure their rich buddies are better off then they were before.

So...when we start to have a go at Starmer (which I am no great fan) please put into context all that went on before. Should we really be having a go at freebies that were all declared...I'm sure the tories never took a gift to two in the past "cough' cough" and yes a policy on the winter fuel allowance that should never have happened. yes he has made mistakes, which PM hasn't...but would we really rather go back to the other lot??

Jeremy Corbyn was his own worst enemy. He fought the right people (highly influential billionaires and the politicians that love them) while being mired in 70s ideology.

Renationalising our water companies, our energy companies, buying back our rail networks, Telecom companies offering free broadband etc... all great ideas (Especially Energy companies with the benefit of hindsight) and all incredibly expensive to actually carry out.

One of my favourites was the compulsory use of empty buildings in central London to house people left homeless in the Grenfell disaster, a practical and compassionate idea that would've horrified every billionaire in the UK.

For me, the worst thing he did was casually stepping back and letting Brexit happen. Imo Labour has a duty to provide opposing viewpoints to the Farages of this world, and JC could've provided a much stiffer resistance to it happening.

Of course there was immigration before Blair, but it was controlled. Labour opened the gates to mass immigration on an unprecedented scale. They pushed four (I think, may be more) laws through parliament to allow for easier migration. Don’t think anyone will argue that immigration isn’t necessary because of course it is, but what we’re seeing now isn’t. Mass immigration of folk who offer nothing, enter the country illegally and pay nothing toward the economy just take from it.

Under Thatcher the tories built on average about 40k council houses a year.. under Blair it was around 500. The population could then buy those council houses dirt cheap to get on the property ladder. So I just find it hilarious when labour voters pipe up about a housing crisis when it’s the party they’re fanboying that A) opened the floodgates and B) stopped building as much “affordable housing”.

Bit of a daft comparison though isn’t it? Were we better off after labours 13 years? GDP/Wealth wise the country is certainly a lot better but other aspects we’re worse off. How would another party have dealt with the COVID set back? It’s easy for the shadow party to sit and throw stones from the background waiting for an opportunity to see where something has gone wrong and tell us all what they’d do differently when we already know the answer - as we’re now going to see the tories do whenever labour get something wrong.

Can’t comment on your local estate who owns them but several members of my family including parents and grandparents all bought their council houses dirt cheap so it defo helped them. Grandparents still own theirs. All of their neighbours have been there as long as I can remember too so I’m assuming all of them have profited.

Just as a question how many of the 10 million are paying taxes and NI. And how many British are sitting in a pub collecting their State money and buying drink with it and then blaming the 10 million that came in for the problems. Everything has context and is not as straight forward as we all think.

If we’re better off because of mass immigration then why is the countries infrastructure crippled whilst receiving the most funding it’s ever been allocated? Yet it wasn’t crippled under labours beginning when the population was 10m lighter?

Of course we are going to have dossers who are British, we are after all living in Britain. But maybe we should be doing something about that instead of continually allowing that number to grow through unprecedented levels of *illegal* immigration which isn’t helping is it? Where’s the common sense? More and more working class folk here are having to go through private healthcare because they won’t be seen for months if not years for procedures in a country they were born, pay taxes etc.

For some reason people seem to get this idea by not agreeing with ridiculous levels of economic migrants choosing to travel half the world to come here because they get it easy that means you’re asking for doctors to be deported.
