I was looking at some stats on wyscout this morning to see who the top performing players are in each position in the championship

We have 3 in the starting 11 of best performing players

Cirkin
O9
Mundle

Not a massive surprise on any of these tbh. O9s will be boasted by his goals but he's currently ranked as 2nd best CB in the league - one stats that really stands out is he is winning 86% of his defensive duels!!!

Cirkin rated as best LB and 2nd best full back overall. Hume is 15th overall and is 9th best RB on stats.

Mundle is now rated as the best winger and Roberts is 6th on the list - Roberts rated as 2nd best RM

Mayenda was rated in top 5 CFs but obviously missing last 2 games has dropped him to 10th

Patterson rated as 5th best GK

CMs are hard to rank as they spilt them out into CDM, CM n AM so hard to tell who is rated the best. Hackney and Mowatt are the 2 in the starting line up

In the category for CMs, Jobe is rated the best

Doesn't mean a massive about as all done based on stats but thought I'd share

The team is:
Gk vigouroux (swansea)
Rb Van Ewijk (Coventry)
Cb o9
Cb Clarke (Boro)
Lb Cirkin
RM Gnoto (Leeds)
CM mowatt (wba)
CM Hackney (boro)
Lm Mundle
CF Sargent (Norwich)
CF Maja (Wba)
I suspect Clarke is in there for the amount of passes he completes? Pretty good lineup that.

We played Burnley at the perfect time. They were losing players every other day and had injuries too. Only 4 of that side who started up here will be playing regularly for them now. Burnley will be right up there, as will Leeds.
a caveat to this, I'm sure they only had 3 changes to the side that hammered Luton when they played us

Is that Luton who’ve had a poor start and sit in 18th place? Burnley were awful up here but their circumstances were far from ideal. They'll be right up there come May.

We had Rigg at 17, Mayenda who everyone had written off, Mundle who was written of by some after last season and Neil sent off playing that day, excuses can be made all day long but the fact is we were seen as a weak side that day without Ballard, Browne and the Clarke scenario. We beat them fair and square

My beliefs are simular to Regis', that we need to be better in possession. Think we had the same problem under Mowbray, the team was young then as well, with Neil coming in for Evans, we'd stroke the ball about lovely but needed more patience because we'd try to make the killer pass when we weren't set for it.

It's down to inexperience and a crazy desire to score goals, sometimes however you have to show restraint.

I cannot wait to see how Rigg and Mundle develop this season.

I ****ing love the day after a victory. Still absolutely buzzing with how this season is going. 4 home games, 4 wins, 8 goals scored and 0 conceded.
If we can win on Friday then you'd have to say we are serious contenders this year

All fair. Really tremendous start. Id the young and inexperienced lads keep growing throughout the year we are on for a big season.

Hate to be cynical but what impresses me most is the ridiculous value we have in our team. Players who are worth so much given their age and talent that is going up in the next two or three years seems inevitable.

Too slow for some but I'm just enjoying the ride really.

I'm surprised Patterson is that high up tbh ...

... he hardly touches the ball at home these days.

We did mind. As soon as I seen their starting Xl I fancied us. O’shea had just left, Beyer, Koleosho and Cullen injured. Worrall just on the brink of signing. That’s before even talking about the players who’d left earlier in summer. But nonetheless still got the job done and handed them their only loss. I fancy them to win the league tbh they’ve still got some important players out and they’ll only get better as the season goes on and players return.

This is it really. Yeah we played a weakened Burnley side but that's not our problem.

They do have a good squad mind, as do a few others. All we can do is keep winning.

RLB said a few times about how he wants to attack fast but sometimes we’re doing it to much and instantly turning the ball over. Thankfully off the ball the team is showing immense discipline

I thought the same until I saw this video compilation someone had put together

I know, it was a bit tongue in cheek but you're right.

It's amazing that we've had Ballard, Alese and Mepham yet the defence seems pretty well organised ...

... still work to be done but the players seem to be getting to grips with what's wanted.
