I think you have to credit the Packers defence for getting them back in it. Made some good plays. Darnold did little wrong really and on reality it was more comfortable than the eventual scoreline suggested.
I'd like to refer back to this conversation in June. Athough I have to admit the Vikings have blown past my expectations already! But I always liked the additions of Jones, Greenard and AVG. I don't think anyone could have foreseen Darnold play at MVP level through the first 4 games.
They’ve started well of course but it’s very early days. They started last season 5-1 and didn’t make the playoffs, they are the only team in history (I think) to start 5-0 and not make the playoffs. As much as this run has surprised everyone I also think nobody would be surprised if they were to lose 4 in a row either. The NFL can change very quickly and the way the Packers completely battered the defence in the second half could give other teams a blueprint. If the Lions win later then they are only 1 game back and the Vikings have to play them twice still. The way you are talking it’s like the Vikings are in the Super Bowl
No I'm not, I'm just saying things are clearly a lot better than what you predicted. The coaching staff are doing a great job. And the first 4 games were arguably our hardest run of fixtures. We've now got the Jets, Rams, Jags, Colts and Titans coming up. Lions will be tough but I see no reason why we don't win at least 3 of our next 5. Of course if Darnold gets injured we're ****ed but that's true of lots of teams if they lost their best QB. I think we lost focus when we went 28-0 up yesterday. We gifted them a TD just before HT and they built on that. In a way it could turn out to be a good thing. A sharp reminder that no game is over at HT and we still won the game.
I actually thought Darnold could have a Geno Smith type year as the Vikings are probably the best situation he has been in since being drafted. Clearly has talent and there is a reason that the vast majority of QBs drafted early are declared busts and it’s all down to the situation they get drafted in. The pass rush has been better than I anticipated and that is down to Flores, the secondary about what I thought. At the moment the main contributor is Pat Jones who most fans had given up on as a bust, so his season so far has been a nice surprise. Swapping an elite pass rusher for one good and a couple better than average seems to have helped massively with overall production. I still would not be surprised if they don’t make the playoffs, last year 9 wins was the lowest needed, still a long way off that.
Hey magic, not sure if you watch the post match speeches by koc but given your love for him, I'm sure you'll be thrilled to know that Murphy got a game ball! As for the predictions, even outside of this forum everyone was predicting us to barely win any games and finish bottom of the division, even below the bears. So I was hoping we'd prove the haters wrong, so I'm thrilled with the start. Of course it's early days.
Just checked to see if they were any tickets left for the Jets-Vikings game and there were a few so I bought one! I wasn't going to go as I didn't expect the Vikings to be good this year but I've lucked out! I'm low down behind one of the end zones. In 2022 I was up high so really looking forward to it.
Vikings have confirmed that Hockenson will return against either the Lions or the Rams (week 7 or 8). So just after the bye week. Excellent - will improve an already firing offence.

What is frustrating for me is that l am back from Riyadh the weekend after and l could have gone with you. However l would have been in my Jets Shirt!
