You posted a full seasons stat's from 22/23 to demonstrate your argument and when I advised they finished bottom half for 23/24 rather than acknowledge it you instead picked out a small period of time in a season instead. Howe has acknowledged the away issue regularly btw .. even this season... I don't understand why you can't..... at home Newcastle are very good but away they're not. Last season we had a similar debate that in the end we bet on and I won that bet... unfortunately you didn't have to good grace to honour it. Regardless I've made mind up on away performances and I think Everton away will be tough.... what we think really doesn't matter.
You point that its a given fact that are away from is poor doesn't make sense - our away form was excellent in 22/23, bad first half of last season, good the second half of last season and good so far this season. He hasn't acknowledged this issue this season cos we ended last season extremely well away from home and have been good this season. Everton will only be tough in the sense that every game in the Prem is tough. They'll be struggling this season.
Newcastle were 11th best in 23/24. He actually has. Anyway I can't go around in circles all day and like I say what we think doesn't matter. Off to watch pool hopefully fail away.
Come on Ipswich.... if Villa keep outdoing Newcastle they're going to leave our takeover for dust and become what Newcastle thought they would become.
Are they... that's good to be fair, but I think them landing champions league football again wouldn't be good for us.
I told you Chelsea would finish above Newcastle last season and that happenedand I'm saying they're more likely than Newcastle to land top 4 this season. I also didn't say Villa would finish top 4 in the post you just replied to...I'm saying we don't want them to keep up what they are achieving. Villa are more so our competitiors than Chelsea.
We were ahead of Chelsea the whole of last season right up to the last 2 games, so that was a very bad prediction right up until then. Chelsea are 2 points ahead of us and Villa 1 point ahead, they both our competitors. Omg, and you said "our competitors" rather than "Newcastle's competitors"
I predicted it when I saw Chelsea improving under poch and it happened, so just accept you were wrong..... you found the suggestion ludicrous in February. Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world are have turned a corner, but you were sleeping on it and still are. Villa like Newcastle are trying to get where the big clubs like Chelsea are, it's not rocket science.
Chelsea finished 6th last season and 12th the season before, an average of 9th. Newcastle finished 7th last season and 4th the season before, an average of 5.5th. ergo we have been better than them for the last 2 years and we're in a similar position to them now. They blatantly haven't turned the corner cos they haven't won anything or been even close to winning anything since that American clown started mangling things up there. They had been one of the biggest clubs in the world under Abramovich years ago, but Man City blew them away a long time ago and they're not even close to being one of the biggest clubs in the country right now, let alone the world. I never said they weren't improving at the end of last season, and I literally said Poch was managing to sort things out there somewhat, so again your "I told you so" isn't valid.
Actually what I said was that Chelsea would finish above Newcastle and you argued until you were blue in the face otherwise. Chelsea finished 6th above Newcastle Now you're saying Chelsea turned a corner ? They obviously have.
The save from Phillips was great. Good shot as well, Phillips has a chance of sorting his **** out at Ipswich.
