After a midweek trip to the Premier League champions, Watford will return to the stresses and strains of Championship life as high-flying Sunderland visit Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets were knocked out of the EFL Cup at the home of Manchester City on Tuesday night, whereas the Black Cats have enjoyed a full week to recover from their most recent second-tier clash at the Stadium of Light.

Despite their struggles since the end of the month, Watford will take confidence from their commendable home form heading into this weekend's clash with the Black Cats, as Saturday's hosts are unbeaten during their last six matches at Vicarage Road, including a pre-season friendly against Premier League Brentford in early August.

With scouts from Champions League finalists Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund watching on, Sunderland starlet Chris Rigg decided the course of his side's most recent Championship match last weekend, when the promising 17-year-old netted the only goal of the game to defeat Middlesbrough at the Stadium of Light.

Team News

No Bachmann or Sierralta and Andrews is a doubtful starter.

The visitors remain without the services of both Ajibola Alese and Jenson Seelt.

Tom Cleverley: “When you can pick up nine points in seven days and two of them are home games, then we need a response from our last league performance.”

Off up to escape into the Sierra de Lobos here, need to feel the loneliness here. Sometimes the city is too much for me.

Weekend here and the rains bring some nice shrooms.

Mexico is wonderful, if managed correctly as a lot of things go down here that'd make you wonder if humanity is right.

Not sure that team will go down well but we’ll see !

Jebbison dumped already and no Baah .
I actually think that it will please a lot, apart from Baah not starting. Jebbison appears to have angered the boo boys already and Porteous isn't exactly a favourite of theirs either. At least both are on the bench on the bench and it wouldn't surprise me if both come on at some point.

That is true .

Good options on the bench .

I'm feeling positive about the game. After watching the AFL Grand Final from Melbourne this morning, in which Sydney, the red hot favourites who play in red & white, were firmly trounced by Brisbane, I'm viewing the result as an omen...

And I've got my fingers crossed as a back-up...;)
