Didn’t help that we had 10 men from the 7th minute but I agree. Leave ourselves way too open at the back it’s beyond silly, Southampton would’ve netted 4 or 5 today, let alone a decent side.

That was actually Astra Giugiu or something like that, still remember the video of the West Ham fan after the game saying “WE GOT KNOCKED OUT BY ASTRA GO GO!”
Southampton would have turned back and passed to the defence to start the attack again before creating any of those chances.
Heard it before but it’s a good anecdote if it’s true.
Remember Scotland kicking a game off against nobody in Estonia because the home team were protesting against something. Referee abandoned the match after like five seconds and they weren’t given the win for a forfeit. Ended up drawing the replay.

- Prime Minister and Arsenal fan Sir Keir Starmer received the most hospitality tickets of any MP for matches in the Premier League, Championship and Champions League totalling just under £13,000 - donated to him by the Premier League and seven English clubs.
- The Premier League also gifted Starmer an additional £4,000 worth of hospitality tickets for a Taylor Swift concert at Wembley Stadium in June.
- Starmer also enquired about tickets for the upcoming Oasis Tour. The Premier replied "we're not made of money y'cheeky ****er".

Probably one of the few MPs who doesn’t pretend to like football and has paid for a season ticket he can’t really use, for context.
Thing is in football what a lot of fans might not realise is players have access to courtesy tickets (can't think of the correct term for them), that entitles family and friends to attend the game for free and gains you access to restricted areas. I've had courtesy tickets for my club in the past, there's an allocated section for that group to sit in. So really Kier probably hasn't done much different (other than the luxury of his tickets of course) to what a lot of clubs do on a weekly basis. Much like corporate seats at Wembley. At least Starmer was an actual STHolder and he's a representative for our country, so you wouldn't really expect him to be sitting in with the gooner rif-faff.
I have, but I can't find it. I just remember a side we dominated and threw the kitchen sink at them, but it turned out later that some of their players were trying to throw it. UEFA made it abundantly clear that Liverpool weren't involved in any way shape or form - it was an East European gangster thing. It was amusing though that we had one those nights when we hit the woodwork, hit the goalie (he mustn't have been in on it!), and had a couple of nailed-on pens not given (the officials were definitely not in on it), and missed several open goals.

When Michael Howard was leader of the Tories he still attended many games at Liverpool, albeit in the director's box surrounded by a security detail (a-la Rishi at Soton). Think the only rumblings were from the SOS group about his politics rather than whether he paid for his tickets. Dorries and McVey are another two who've rocked up in the DB at Anfield. There are probably many more in hospitality boxes that we know nothing of. Sadiq Khan seems to be at Anfield every month, but I dunno if he pays or where he sits.
St Corbyn of Jeremy though is an Arsenal season-ticket holder and really does just rock up in the stands like Shearer in the away end with the Toon Army, and if there is no queue to get into the ground he waits around until one forms and then joins it to prove what a man of the people he is.
