<peacedove>After seeing off West Ham in the league cup, away to Wolves on Saturday 28th September 2024. Wolves are bottom of the league with 1 point.
Manchester City playing early kick off against Newcastle United and Arsenal playing Leicester City at home at 1500 hours. By the time we play Wolves we can be further down the table. This is a must win game to keep pressure on Manchester City and Arsenal.

Liverpool vs Wolves: Match Officials Announced for Premier League Clash

Liverpool will face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux this Saturday in what promises to be a crucial Premier League fixture. After a commanding 3-0 victory over Bournemouth last weekend, Arne Slot’s men will look to build momentum as they aim to close in on the top of the table. Wolves, on the other hand, are struggling and find themselves rooted to the bottom of the league standings. This clash presents a significant opportunity for both sides.

    Key Match Officials Announced
The Premier League has now confirmed the match officials for Liverpool’s upcoming clash against Wolves. Anthony Taylor has been appointed as the on-field referee for this fixture. Taylor, one of the league’s most experienced referees, will be supported by assistants Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn, while Darren England will take on the role of fourth official.

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for the game will be Michael Salisbury, with Dan Robathan as the assistant VAR. Salisbury’s role will be crucial in ensuring that any contentious decisions are addressed during the game, particularly as VAR has played a significant role in recent Premier League matches.

Joke ref out to prove a point no doubt.

Wolves down to bare bones at the back and totally lacking confidence. Bound to play like hero's.

At least we have a game thst the players won't have two eyes on midweek so we should be backs to full teams for this.

Zero idea who starts at 9 now but the rest of the team will pick itself as alisson will be out.

Back 4 is early picked. Midfield is obvious, diaz must start.

You'd hope we can get the crowd on the home teams backs and work a goal or two.

Given Nunez played 90 and Jota got a rest assume Jota starts as 9.

Think Gakpo be hard done by to not start after his performance v Milan and tonight, but then harsh on diaz after weekend.

    Nice choices to have though

I don’t mind this slot, the 8pm one is ridiculous though - that needs scrapping

This is unfair. I must protest this harsh treatment of dribs.

He said he was banned from city.

He never said city couldn't pay to have him take points off us v wolves.

Molineux, 17:30 CHRIS SUTTON'S PREDICTIONS NARROW AWAY WIN 1:2

Wolves have not been as bad as their results suggest but I suspect the fans' patience is wearing a bit thin with their manager, Gary O'Neil.

That is slightly unfortunate, and unfair, because overall he did well last season, but the way Wolves ended the last campaign poorly and have started this one the same way does not help him, clearly.

This game probably won't do much for his cause, either. It is hard to look past a Liverpool win, based on their firepower and their strength off the bench.

They wiped the floor with Bournemouth last week and, while this will be closer, I still think Liverpool will win it.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Paul's prediction: This is going to be harder for Liverpool than you might expect on paper against the bottom team. Results have not gone Wolves' way but they have been playing OK and they will put up a good fight here.

There is something that makes me think they can get a draw but we are in the predictions game here and I have to go with percentages. 0-2

The one thing we know for sure is they will ****house this gsme

I fully expect a forest performance not a Bournemouth performance here.

Look at their cb situation they have to park the bus

The thing about that sort of problem is there's no perfect solution to it. You just keep plugging away at it, and in some games a stroke of genius or a bit of luck comes along and you make the breakthrough - in others you don't.
Frustrating to watch for me, but I understand it - not many teams will risk playing us on our own terms.

Yeah, it's about moving the ball faster and not falling into a slow.slow gsme.thst suits thr opponents.

Sometimes I've seen lfc start a game pathetically slowly under no pressure from the opponent. Just really slow short passes across the back.

But most of the time we will have a go and maybe get frustrated or not adjust.

Slot seems to like going down thr middle with passing so when teams go narrow and flood that space we have to adapt and consider going wide and staying wide.

Trent seems to have been given freedom to call how he decides to go. If we decides wrongly to be infield then we will play into traps.

    Same for Diaz.

I think playing wide and turning these sides is crucial but so is having an effective set piece.

Win frees, win corners. Hit your big men with quality ball.

As I said if everything is an inswinger and your best headers are in annoying the gk and having to run out thry won't score many.

I've always thought that turning sides is the best way to break an deep line. You can always get a panicked pen or a defelcti9b or og.

I agree on the need for width. Too often under Klopp we went far too narrow into a congested area for my liking.
I'm not as vehemently against the inswingers as you seem to be - and anyway, we mixed it up a bit last game, Tsimi took them from both sides.

The thing about it is that I think you can see we are working on better delivery as the shape of the ball in appears to have improved to my eye. Better whip a lot of the time.

We seem that obsessed with getting round the keeper and running out rather than in to score however that we are wasting the best attacking asset.

If you get free for a header by going from goal line out then Jota is ideal for thst role.

If both tall men are on the goal line then all their tall men can crowd the 6 yard box for the inswinger as well and block it all out.

Mix it up is all I ask. You've thst good a header rof the ball in vvd thst if you let him pile.in at speed he is unstoppable.

If the delivery is improve thst he can run to a zone and know it's coming then it's better

We need to score the first goal and keep the crowd quiet.
