??????? You are aware both Barnes and Gordon started yesterday? And are you saying you would rather have Murphy, Almiron, Krafth, Burn and Longstaff in the team rather than Barnes?!
He's saying they should have bought a r w player because Barnes and Gordon are best lw. Mate when you're watching this side what do you make of performances?
Barnes and Gordon can play together, so it's irrelevant. Performances haven't been great, but at least they're showing they can get back into games and change things, see Wolves, Bournemouth and the second half yesterday. What would be a major concern is if they were doing the opposite like Everton, ie going 2-0 up in games and managing to lose them.
Its not because both are way better on the left than the right.. if we had two top players one left one right things would be better 1st 11 wise. Like I've said all day you know performances are poor, so you agree with us and then you're throwing in the ifs, buts and maybes which is fine it's just not going to make any difference. If Newcastle are 10th or below after 10 games what should we be looking at? The table or performances?
And here we go, the grim look ahead, the assertion that we're going down to 10th, will be lucky to finish in the top half, the rot is setting in, blah blah fecking blah. I'm not throwing in if and buts, and I'm not going to talk about us being 10th after 10 games, cos that is all negative speculation.
It was a straight question... if we're 10th after 10 games should be we look at the table or performances? You said blah blah blah when you laughed off Chelsea finishing ahead of Newcastle... open your mind a little mate. We can highlight issues in performances surely ? We don't have to look for things to ignore it surely?
I'm not engaging with it because it's irrelevant right now. As the season progresses, the league position will reflect the performances, but trying to say any negative performances so far marks a precidence for the season makes no sense.
If we are tenth or higher after 10 games I will be surprised to be honest. The games we have coming up are tough games.
Hopefully Newcastle suddenly click but performances are poor and everyone knows it. The table is probably still not worth looking at until every one's played eachother once tbh.
I didn't say performances were irrelevant, I said doing an analysis of us being 10th after 10 games is irrelevant. We could be 3rd after 10 games or 12th after 10 games.
So why are you using the table after 5 games and doing an analysis? Can we just agree performances have been poor?
Not great, but not terrible. And we certainly can't agree anything about 10 games, the rot setting in, not finishing in the top half, or anything like that.
So we agree after all that about performances. Also we agree 5 games and 10 games isn't enough to draw conclusions on league position.
The passion from both these sides is way higher than our lot. Newcastle had that over other sides at one point.
