I don't think we should make too many changes, we dominated the 1st 4 matches so we aren't all of a sudden a bad team so I wouldnt be making 3/4 changes like some are suggesting

Mepham in for Ballard and probably Browne in for Rigg would be my changes but that's it
I’d also go Isidor. He just looks a stronger.

I still think Mayenda has earned his start, I'd keep him in for next weekend. Yes he didn't have a great game this weekend but was class the game before

Isidor will get his chance soon enough, just feel Mayenda still deserves his start
Yeah fine with mayenda starting would just like Wilson on earlier if he’s struggling, like to see him get 25/30mins or so before he starts

Very impressed with their attitudes. We’ve lost one game of football but the reaction of those we’ve seen come out and say things is professional and like they’re seriously hurt about losing
Well we’ll find out next weekend, won’t we? Response needed.

I'd expect to see some degree of rotation for the Boro game regardless of the result against Plymouth, the likes of Browne, Isidore and Mepham seem obvious candidates.
Way too many panicky folk. Have read everything from Ballard makes mistakes and is injured regularly, to Neil has been poor in his new position (despite his position not changing), to Mayenda being not strong enough. I dont agree with any of those views. Whether we like it or not Plymouth were better than us. Rooney was excellent in the second half, as were his players. Some of the dismissive stuff about Rooney is not sensible or educated. He had a plan, it failed, and he went again. He earned the win. Regis will learn from this amd I dare say this week is a diffetent focus. Rooney is a good coach

We will see if Regis capable or not now. I am sure he is, but this is about proving our belief in him.

Home to Fife this afternoon from a great birthday weekend in Plymouth with some great mates and an incredible support. There were Sunderland fans on the flight to Bristol and on every platform the train to Plymouth stopped at ...

... can't think of a better way to spend my birthday.

Thanks to everyone, Paul, Faraway, Dennylad, Smithy, Trudy's gang, the RTG lads, Grumpy, Rip van Fish and especially Dave Ashfield for bringing a birthday pie his lass, made specially, complete with a candle.
You all made it a very special day for me <cheers>

You could say that about anyone though. I think you’re right on Rooney changing things for the better, you can also say very fairly that we didn’t adjust to it quickly enough. No doubt whatsoever that Ballard had a poor second half and lost his cool. We know he’s a good player. We also know he has recklessness in him at times and that’s his place for improvement. Mayenda had a flash or two of strong running and did very well for one shot out of nothing. I like him, but would have had Isidor on sooner in the context of the game, with Browne. I can both think Le Bris has done well and also think he dawdled a bit yesterday. I’d be very surprised if our analysis doesn’t show similar things as it comes out in the wash.

The last paragraph is a stretch for me, I think he’s evidently capable as shown by 4 consistent performances. We will lose games and play bad at times it’s very very hard to be good all the time especially at this level but let’s see how we play next 3 games

Agreed, Mayenda has done enough to justify sticking with him. What happens if we start Isidor instead and he doesn't score for a few games, do we ditch him and start Rusyn?

Mayenda has shown he can finish and can play well in our system. He'd benefit from being allowed game time to improve and learn from his mistakes. Can't really do that from the bench.

Agreed he’s going to blow hot and cold at his age but even in glimpses against Plymouth he drove us up the pitch
