Having contemplated this further, I have concluded that the blame lies firmly at the hands of Fabrizio Romano.

Lazy git just needs to pull his finger out of his arse and post "Here we go! Newcastle United deal done..." and then magic transfer stuff happens.

Okay I’m going to do it “here we go, guehi to Newcastle done by the weekend”

I see Mitchell had cleared everything up.... it was Howe ! Some of us figured this out but it's always nice for the confirmation.

Another lesson for the Messiah ringlickers

And the scouting sounds like - under Nickson and Howe jr - is not fit for purpose either. Mitchell not ****ing about with these digs. Fair play.

Howe dug his heels in early when Mitchell came in and used the threat of taking the England job publicly.

It's no surprise to me because he's employed his nephew! Newcastle is supposed to attempting to emulate the big clubs not Bournemouth.

Mitchell has come in and identified a small time operation! Staveley wouldn't have known any different because she's not a football person.

This is now the beginning of the end for Howe and his nephew. Mitchell is crystal clear! Howe won't look at players he's suggesting and I suspect Nickson is being shut down by and playing second fiddle to Howes nephew.

Same for Howe, what’s his experience? Bournemouth and Burnley? He wants to be a Football Manager, but Mitchell was very pointed with his “head coach” comment.

All those saying “ooooh, do your job, Mitchell, and stop singing with people in stacks, Eales, you clown” are probably very quiet today. Occam’s razor, the most obvious answer - in this case, Howe - is usually the right one.

I particularly like the part where he says you can't just keep paying big prices for players that were already identified by other clubs and sold at peak prices.

It's been obvious that Howe is just taking the easy expensive approach which is all good and well, but not the right way to run a clubs recruitment.

I've been asking where this managers finds are for 2 years plus now and we now have the answer.... there aren't any because he isn't even looking.

Tell you what, though, it’s laid down a lot of positivity for future windows. Whatever happens, the summer we’ve just had will never happen again.

I've said it a few times, but finishing 4th was problematic because large numbers were fooled into thinking the club had moved that far forward.

The reality is the club said 5 to 10 years and then the rules changed making the situation even worse. The new rules have probably doubled the time frame.

The fact the side finished 4th was actually pretty irrelevant, but it's given people a taste of the nectar too soon which is creating disharmony.

This is all part of the growth... moving on from small time operations.

Also looks like they really do have faith in Howe. What I think they recognise is that he needs to get back to coaching lesser known players to become better and I expect our scouting to reflect that moving forward.

He also spoke about needing to assess the ridiculous injury situation. I’m just happy about the whole thing, some of us said some time ago the club needed to progress heavily from Amanda Staveley and this is exactly the kind of interview she couldn’t give. Doesn’t mean she wasn’t part of something amazing and we will all be forever in her debt but football moves hella fast!

Howe can only learn himself along the way, but I get the distinct impression that little old Mr Perfect is going to dig his heels in to protect his nephew.

The little web he's weaved around him at the club is being picked apart now, so he's either going to come scurrying out aggressively or he's going to just let it happen.

Roland has been right all along and a few others have been asking the same questions. It's now public knowledge.
