    Yeah.

But maybe Mainoo gets a second yellow, to give Casemiro a reprieve.

So as things stand, if we (somehow) beat Utd, we'll go above them

We weren't as bad as that, were we?

Is there a little prophecy of the future there with the Ipswich score hidden away in your news?

Oh ****ing mega. This league is totally ****ing bent. Get rid of FFP/PSR whatever. Clearly doesn't matter anyway. The rules are only there to protect the top 6 anyway.

I suppose technically it is a loophole in the rules (which the PL will presumably now seek to close), but it's not exactly a loophole to intentionally plan for - because it requires you to get relegated!

But nonetheless, the fact remains that they exceeded the PL's PSR limit in 2022-23, but won't be incurring any points deduction unlike Everton and Forest.

It does mean that if you are a newly promoted team you could take the route of spend spend spend and if you do get relegated then who cares (from a PSR perspective, you could **** the club financially of course)

So Leicester break the rules and get off scott free. Everton, Villa and Chelsea break the rules but trade youth players at inflated prices to get round them.

It is a complete joke. Football at the elite level has gone so far down hill in the past 10-15 years.

Yeah. If the PL are upset now, just imagine if Leicester really stick two fingers up at them by spending millions in January.

The wording of the appeal board is brilliantly bad.

"It's not obvious why such a club should be subject to the disciplinary jurisdiction of the premier league."

Yeah, sure. Not at all obvious is it...

I haven’t bothered to read it, are they essentially saying that because they weren’t in the PL for the duration of the PSR period then it doesn’t apply?

Basically. They were no longer a PL side at the time they officially broke the rules, because they were relegated just before 30 June 2023, and so apparently can't be punished by the PL.

I do wonder what Everton will feel about it (and maybe Forest). They broke the same rules for the same period, and were punished (because they didn't get relegated). Obviously those punishments didn't ultimately result in them getting relegated last season. But the failure to punish Leicester, for the same offence, potentially might indirectly relegate Everton this season. (Far less risk of that with Forest.)

Well surely we could go on a spending spree in January and argue the same then?

But arguably Everton and Forest breaking the rules relegated us/Leeds so not sure they can play that card
