He's weirdly defensive and/or blind to his shortcomings. This is his third season and he has been given untold millions to spend in the market. Most of that money has been spent on players he has previously worked with, so he can't even hide behind an excuse of not being given signings he wanted.
When ManU are *constantly* discussed on TalkShite the entitlement is amazing. It appears that top four is their rightful place and all discussion is about getting there or how far away from there they are. The 8th place finish is often described as "only" 8th. However IMHO they were very lucky to get 8th last year. There were very many matches where they got the points where they probably didn't deserve to. I think there's always some kind of psychological bias in pundits, but also in refs that somehow sees them as being better than they are, or deserving to finish higher than they do. Perhaps it even feeds into how they are reffed. I know there are many on here that would disagree ;-)
Mark Goldbricker's comment about how Everton should have shut up and sold them Branthwaite in the summer if they wanted transfer funds was particularly telling
Has anybody said "**** West Ham" lately? because I feel that somebody should say it quite ****ing loudly please log in to view this image
I cannot listen to "the pundits" any more and have long deleted TalkShite from my radio list!! Unfortuately it is all about the click-bait and like it or not Utd are one of, if not the biggest club out there so they generate all the chatter.... I actually find Goldbridge hilarious to be fair, and I am sure the majority of what he spews out is a wind up.
He isn’t ticking any boxes as a manager. There is nothing about him or any aspect of how his team are playing that inspires any confidence. The team makes repeated errors, especially defensively; there seems to be no leadership on the pitch; there is no game plan or organisation; work rate is poor; there is a lack of creativity; there is a lack of steel; nobody can score goals regularly - he has so far failed in every respect to create a functioning team. He relies on being bailed out by an occasional spark from one of the more gifted players like Fernandes or Garnacho. There has only been one decent performance over a whole 90 minutes during his tenure - in the F.A. Cup final and it kept him his job. But, as you say, he can’t see his own shortcomings. He is the second most successful manager in England since he arrived, so what’s the problem?
If you offered us (or any other side other than City, Liverpool and Arsenal) your last 2 seasons, a league cup followed by an FA Cup we would snap your arm off. I know that expectations at United are different, but what he is saying is true. Not that I have any sympathy for him, and he is unlikely to survive another season outside the champions league places cups or not.
They won't do anything. It's hardly surprising that a murderous mobster didn't stick to the rules, is it? There's a host of European clubs that have built their success on cheating and nothing will happen.
