Anything we do now is a straw clutching exercise. I've said for a few days to some of the lads this reeks to high heavens of a new manager waiting in the wings. Something isn't right. Howe looks like he did when he started to look destroyed at Bournemouth.

It really, really does. Howe's looked, well, kind of sick to the stomach recently. The initial knee-jerk interview I think will be seen as the seminal point, he was clearly incredibly irked.

Since then we've basically been interested in Olise and Guehi, in spite of the Sporting Director coming from roles at Leipzig and Monaco. Maybe this season we'll send all our scouts to Brighton instead of Palace?
 
There's a number of possibilities.

They may all have unanimously decided on targets and just not managed to get them and then simply decided not to bankroll the clubs future like Everton on **** players.

Newcastle are not a big club yet but unfortunately finishing 4th once has warped peoples minds into thinking they fixed 15 years of neglect within 2.5 years.
