I love Luke O’Nien and think he’s considerably underrated by many. But there’s no way he starts ahead of Mepham. Perhaps O’Nien now becomes the utility option on the bench we all thought he eventually would? And perhaps this was the plan all along when he wasn’t given the team captain role.
Yeah agreed. Got to get some good loans for players. Other than striker I'm probably more invested in getting some productive outgoings than I am with incomings.
KLD and KS deserve credit if we're making signings like this to push for promotion, seems they are happy to sway from the model when needed.
Sounds a bit short-termist to bring in a season long loan because Ballard needs an extra week. It'll be a good addition and flesh out the defence. Assume there will be some guarantees on playing time so interested to see who drops out...
100% incredibly harsh on O’Nien and Alese who have three consecutive clean sheets and have both been superb this season. But this is what we need if we are to be promoted. I won’t have anybody say “no ambition” now. The club are very clearly going for it.
Be great to have 4 quality championship CBs in our ranks, on paper mepham n ballard should be 1st choice but alese n o9 have been class as a 2. Its the type of depth we really need O9 alese can cover at fullback as well
Mepham is a great signing! Assuming that’ll be the defence settled. Fullback cover will come from O’Nien and Hjelde/Alese which is easier to do with Mepham partnering Ballard!
