He actually said he would see out his contract which is 2027 and maybe then even perhaps maybe sign a new one, maybe.

I asked Chat Gpt to give me some strange medical conditions... this is what it came up with, I wonder which one Toney has:

There are several unusual and rare medical conditions that can seem strange or surprising due to their unusual symptoms or causes. Here are a few:

    1. **Alien Hand Syndrome**: This condition causes a person's hand to act on its own, performing actions without the person’s control or awareness. The affected hand might grab objects, touch the person's face, or even interfere with the other hand's activities. It often occurs after brain surgery or a stroke that affects the brain's connection with hand control.

    2. **Pica**: Pica is an eating disorder where individuals crave and eat non-food substances, such as dirt, chalk, paper, or metal. This condition is sometimes linked to nutritional deficiencies, such as iron deficiency anemia, but the exact cause is often unclear.

    3. **Exploding Head Syndrome**: Despite its alarming name, exploding head syndrome is not painful. People with this condition hear a sudden, loud noise (like a gunshot or explosion) as they are falling asleep or waking up, but no actual external sound occurs. It is thought to be related to sudden bursts of neural activity in the brain.

    4. **Capgras Delusion**: This rare psychological disorder makes individuals believe that a close friend, family member, or even a pet has been replaced by an identical impostor. It often occurs in people with schizophrenia or dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease.

    5. **Stendhal Syndrome**: Named after the French writer Stendhal, this condition occurs when individuals experience rapid heartbeat, dizziness, fainting, or even hallucinations when exposed to art or beauty, such as in a museum or gallery. It’s believed to be triggered by overwhelming emotions caused by artistic or aesthetic stimuli.

    6. **Walking Corpse Syndrome (Cotard’s Syndrome)**: Individuals with this condition believe that they are dead, do not exist, or have lost their internal organs or blood. It is a rare psychiatric disorder and is often associated with depression, schizophrenia, or brain injuries.

    7. **Morgellons Disease**: This controversial condition is characterized by the sensation of crawling, stinging, or biting on the skin, often accompanied by the appearance of thread-like fibers coming out of sores. The medical community remains divided on whether it is a distinct disease or a manifestation of a psychological condition.

    8. **Alice in Wonderland Syndrome**: People with this syndrome experience distorted perception of their own body size or the size and shape of objects around them. They might perceive their body parts as larger or smaller than they are, or see objects as closer or farther away than they really are. This syndrome is often associated with migraines, epilepsy, or certain types of brain injuries.

    9. **Progeria**: Also known as Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome, this is an extremely rare genetic disorder that causes children to age rapidly. Most children with progeria appear normal at birth, but they begin to show symptoms of accelerated aging within their first few years of life, including growth failure, loss of body fat and hair, aged-looking skin, joint stiffness, and heart disease.

    10. **Trimethylaminuria (Fish Odor Syndrome)**: This metabolic disorder prevents the body from breaking down trimethylamine, a chemical compound that smells like rotting fish. As a result, people with trimethylaminuria may emit a strong fishy odor through their sweat, urine, and breath. The condition can be socially challenging but is otherwise harmless.

These conditions, while rare or unusual, highlight the vast range of possibilities within human biology and neurology, often challenging our understanding of the human body and mind.

Are we worried that he's always injured? Or for 100k a week and plenty of options in his position, that's not a concern? Use him when he's fit and give the healthy lads a break? If he's fit half the year he's probably worth it.

Bit of a myth, he has 1 big injury but since then been generally fine. Made 33 appearances last year and think was over 2000 minutes so pretty standard.

Another way to view this... we sold Carvalho for £28mill- if Chiesa is £12mill- that's quite a worthwhile swap. £16mill and a better (but a little older) player.

Granted, Carvalho is younger and will get better and may one day be Chiesa level, but we're improving now- and making money at the same time. Chiesa will get more minutes than Carvalho would have... and we make money in the process.

We only didn't do it because of COVID. The optimal point for maximum financial benefit for the likes of Mane, Bobby, Salah, Hendo, etc came during the pandemic and clubs clearly had less money to spend during that time.

The only one that makes sense for him would be Alien Hand Syndrome. If his hand acts against his will, it could be placing bets online while he's busy napping.

I have my concerns (I read the wages were @ £65k pw - now it turns out they're £100k pw), but Chiesa is a physical and skillful presence. I like Carv, but he can be a bit lightweight at times. I appreciate he was decent at Hull on loan, but that's the Championship. I think he'll do well at Fulham, a bit like Wilson did, but he's never a Top 6 player IMO. Chiesa, if he can stay fit, is. But I'm not expecting the Chiesa of 2021 - then he was truly world-class (and we'd have probably never afforded the £100m+ transfer and £300k wages he would have been worth at that moment).

Maybe you're thinking of his dad, Enrico, played for nearly every Italian team. Now he is 53.
