Haven't checked this but Celar has played at total of 93 mins of Championship football so far and yet some on here have decided he's the worst striker there's ever been. Needs that first goal especially if fans have already judged him. We look so much more threatening than we did for most of last season. Goals are coming.
Four minutes added on today. What happens to all the time wasted by referees holding up set piece plays while they try to stop players strangling each other while the ball is dead? There must have been three or four minutes wasted over the course of the game just down to the ref. Just let them take the kick immediately and give a penalty or free kick against any transgressor.
Maybe I'm being a tad harsh on Celar but I genuinely don't think he will offer us much more than what we have been used to. I sincerely hope he proves me wrong. I would love us to acquire a more mobile striker but I trust Marti to take this club forwards.
Only just awoke to see we’ve drawn at home to Plymouth……. disappointing to be honest. We seem to carried on the trait of struggling against teams below us. At least we’ve doubled our points tally!
Have we found out Karl Henry of the season? Everything to be blamed on him even if he does play start playing well?
No there's a long list of duds according to some based on 3 full games and a handful of minutes for some. Madsen will be next. Who's going to be the first and say "Wish Andersen wasn't injured. At least he knows how to score." Come on people. Give it a rest.
I saw a lot of positives from yesterday, it will take time for the squad to settle and get a better understanding of how best to play with each other. Be patient and show them your support, in Marti we trust. Positives: Frey at least knows where the goal is Smyth tries hard and will get better Dunne gradually improving Dembele is an absolute gem Paal starting to give two hoots Field is improving Nardi is an upgrade on last season Chair and Andersen to come back.
Celar is getting on the end of chances and half-chances which we haven’t had a striker do for some time. Even the best strikers at this level need a few chances to score one. As said he’s played the equivalent of barely a game. There are positives to take from yesterday. Even when they were on top in the first half they created very little and scored one worldie that doesn’t happen 99 times in 100. We have some actual pace in the team and can attack with decent football and looking a threat sticking crosses in- again something we rarely have in recent years.
I have another positive, everybody saying it wasn’t our day yet we drew 1-1, last season when it wasn’t our day we lost 4-0
We had 30 shots yesterday with 10 on target. That’s definitely showing us moving in the right direction
I don't understand why Smyth is still getting so much stick, he's started the season well. Was dangerous again yesterday and put some great balls in the box. Think he's already improved. Probably should have scored but those narrow angle chances more often than not hit the keeper.
I propose to give him time. He got onto the ball and managed shots on goal which is a good start. I just have the impression that he is over eager and adds too much power at the ecpense of precision. He is creating the goal scoring opportunities and now needs to convert. In all honesty, he should have scored a hatrick yesterday.
You can sometimes make a judgement well before that based on numerous conditions. Football is all about opinions, who I may rate, others might not and vice versa. I sincerely hope Celar proves me wrong but I don't see a great difference to the strikers we already have.
