They just wanted to take the piss out of the competition by playing two duds whilst still playing teams off the park.
Good for him and probably very good for the US national team. Soccer is growing exponentially (finally, after decades of failed attempts) and the quality of homegrown players is really improving. Wish him all the best
Fully agree. I can't understand this at all. International football is a totally different beast to club football, and when you look at the who's who of former USA managers, you'd have to say it's a huge step down for a man with his CV. I'm starting to worry that he came apart at the seams after that CL final.
I think as Left on the Shelf said US football is growing rapidly and along with Mexico and Canada the US is hosting the 2026 World Cup. Pochetino managing on home ground for the US. Not a step down IMO.
I’ve often said the moment he was done in my eyes was when he cried after the semi final game against Ajax and then saying strange things about leaving Spurs if they won etc. That said, he got the better of Ange last season
A true, scripted Lennoning: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C-2uXLcoAH_/?igsh=MXF1eTg0ZXFxdWs1OA== That's the take that they decided to go with? Really?
We need more (name)-Peters, and less Hughes-(name) https://metro.co.uk/2024/08/22/kier...oddler-brain-damage-violent-assault-21467289/
Jermaine Jenas has been sacked from his BBC jobs on MOTD and The One Show due to undisclosed workplace misconduct: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy76pdz5152o He's also been dumped by his agent, apparently. Pretty sure he's on Talkshite right now, so I'm not sure if he knows.
Sacked by BBC, it must be serious as we all know their track record. Being ex Spurs I’ve always liked him so hope it isn’t for something sinister
I'm going to guess from the available information that he's said or done something stupid with a colleague or colleagues. Sounds like inappropriate texts, presumably sexual in nature. Not good, but not horrifically sinister, like some other BBC presenters. Might **** his presenting career, but I don't think he'll get any criminal charges. Could be completely wrong, of course.
Not condoning that but if it’s that then it’s not too bad. Vernon Kay did that and is still employed by the beeb isn’t he? Yeah the worst thing it could be would have resulted in him being nicked so unlikely to be that. Probably ****ed his marriage and career though.
The instant sacking makes me a little wary, but he might be getting a bit of collateral damage from the Huw Edwards fallout. The BBC does not want to be drawn into any more sex scandals right now, even if they're nowhere near as dodgy as their other ones.
