Making it stand out... it's a great thread because everyone refutes the idea and some break down their assessment explaining to me why I was wrong.

Anyway have we got any transfer news?

The latest position seems to be fans saying Guehi is over priced... that was the same with Gordon so surely we need to trust the people that watched him before he played a couple of games for England.

Certainly feels a lot closer today for some reason. The price is what it is, he's clearly not worth that but is to Palace which is there prerogative of course, we'd do exactly the same lets be honest.

Think I would just about rather pay £65m for him than lower our bar and settle on Gomez or Disasi or whatever his name is. Lets hope it's done and dusted so he can play on Sunday as I've not seen any news of an appeal on Schar's red card so if it's not done we're going into that game with Burn/Krafth in the middle at the back

Yes. I've said rhat many times.
I just think over £50m is over priced, but if we can afford it and still get in a quality RW then who cares.

He's probably not overpriced mind... how much was the boy Leicester sold ?Branthwaite valued at 70 and many others are examples

Yeah, fair enough, there have been plenty of transfers in recent years that have seemed over priced. So maybe it is 'fair value'.

Just nice to be able to be involved in these big deals. Not used to it.

They'll sign a rw too either way by the sound of it.

Think Fofana was the yardstick being used by Palace. It is what it is, not our money. Trippier leaving doesn’t even really need replacing, Krafth + Ashby + Murphy is enough and I’ve long been banging on about less players.

Guehi + Madueke + Hezze is enough on top of Kelly and Osula. Still think we may miss a trick with Marmadashvili.

Stones was another... that's essentially the price these days.. I dont actually care what they pay.. fans debating what they thinks too much is weird.

The player is the focus for me... is he that good ? I dunno

Marma won't happen.

Appatently Liverpool are still trying to secure him now, but to immediately loan back so he officially joins the Scousers in 2025 when Allison leaves.

Yeah, I only stated concerns re his price if it means we can't then strengthen elsewhere as well.

If we still have PSR limitations hampering us then every £1 counts.

But if we can start throwing money around already based on commercial deals, CL revenue etc, then fair game.

On Marmalade I can remember seeing he wanted guaranteed playing time and that Club were not impressed with his attitude. From a month back or so.

Obviously don't know if it is true but if it was then would explain why we and possibly others haven't pursued deal further.

The higher the price the better imo.. the last thing the makems want to see is Newcastle paying 65 to 70 million pounds on cb.

They will then try and laugh at the price but deep down behind the laughing is a person struggling psychologically.

He’s ok. Reliable I suppose usually a 7/10 player. Decent ball player - him plus Botman should be good, back four seems to have a lot of potential.
