The bananarama version was a cover of the original by the non-existent band Steam. Great song though, well suited to a chant for Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevee!

i am too young to have any idea who steam are, hell the only reason i know who bananarama are is because of their ridiculous name

No, just a very average player playing above his level.

What did Ted see in him, that everyone else didn't..? No modern data gathering methods, so it was just down to watching him play. Just found a photo I've never seen before, so I'll direct it here:

I'm guessing Alex Young [Everton], then it's our two Jimmy's from Liverpool, ex-Evertonian Scot, Jimmy Gabriel, and ex-Pool Mr Melia. Think that is Dave Walker's head stuck to JM's right shoulder.

BTW, sorry for the thread hi-jack, pepys. Nostalgia can be a bit of a disease, at times.

Fab photo TSS, thanks for the memories! Think that might be big Ron Davies in the distance as well.

No, not sure how this became a thread about Jimmy Melia either. Anyway, I'm off to bed. G'night folks.
