Why is ETH putting it out there we are not ready for Fulham? I think that’s a stupid thing to say given everyone else is in the same boat.

    Did you miss this bit?

"The team is not ready but the league starts," said Ten Hag.

“There are more managers who definitely have this problem but we have to make a start.

The statement points back to a trend of excuses, in my opinion. The reality is the team is filled with resources and should be ready for the challenge from Fulham.

But not many of the Fulham squad were called up for Euro/Copa squads. A good number of our players have had disruptive and short pre-season conditioning, some have had just a two-week break before reporting back to Carrington, that has to take a toll, if not now, then later in the season. I think ETH is referencing the fact that a number of players are yet to reach peak condition even as the season starts, I don't think he is referencing a general lack of preparedness.

His English is pretty clumsy to be honest, I think everyone would say the season has come a week too soon after the Euros.

You could say everyone in the same boat.

    Except they aren't!

Can't see many Fulham players in the Euros or Copa America finals and semi finals.

He has a point. He should just maybe get someone to word it better.

Every summer we get sht thrown at us about how bad we are at transfers. INEOS Group should be given great credit for how they’ve managed this summer. It started slow, but it quickly moved into gear to lock down transfers and tying up renewals. Very decisive stuff and no fuss at all!

A+ for me! And we may not even be done. ETH should benefit greatly from that new structure.

Wouldn't make any sense whatsoever, unless he halved his wages.

He's got no sell on and is on huge wages at Chelsea. Chelsea get the better deal as at least Sancho has a sell on value.

I would assume United know all this and would expect Sterling to take a relatively low wage for this to even be considered.

I would rather we sell Sancho abroad and structure a deal for Toney.

Toney will make a difference, for sure. I just don’t know about the insane transfer fee. He also has no sell on value.

F knows what we are thinking about Sterling though. I can’t understand why we would deem Sancho a waste but accept Sterling.

All sorts of **** flying about, it's now Chilwell were looking to swap for Sancho.

We need a left back cover for the forever Shaw, so........... ....

we don't need Sterling though, and I would agree with Glazer that Toney a far better bet.

I think a few things will happen the next few day's, hopefully positive.

I think I'll miss McTom, but it needed to be done on both sides I guess.

You do have to feel a little for McT, he's been with the club since the age of 7 or something, but he hasn't made the big step up from squad player so it was inevitable he would go, particularly given the FFP bonus for the club's finances..

I wonder if Brentford would take Sancho <laugh>

We have a new Rottweiler..... Ugarte has signed

"The passion of supporters is something that is very important to me; I know how incredible United fans are and I cannot wait to experience Old Trafford. I’m someone who is so determined to succeed; I will sacrifice and give everything for my teammates. Together we will fight to win trophies and reach the level where this club needs to be.”

I think too many fans unfairly targeted McTominay. For me, he is the ideal player that always gives his all. He’s level headed and he’s not a negative moody prick. Overall, he scored 10 goals in a season where the goals dried up so badly. He’s an absolute archetype player Sir Alex won trophies with.

I’m not suggesting he should starts every match, but there’s a place for a player of his type in that team. I think it’s a shame he’s leaving!

Surely it has to be Ugarte and Mainoo in the midfield with Casemiro filling in as an option.

I don't know much about Ugarte but he talks a good game and seems to have the drive of Martinez and Dalot so will do for me.
That said i would try to get him and Casimero in the same team and if necessary drop Rashford and give Mainoo a free role further forward.
May not work but would like to give it a try.
When fit Casimero is still a very good player.

Sancho also gone, so that's a positive. Hopefully Rashford won't sulk about it.

The McTominay thing is good for all parties, he gets a move to a club where he will probably start, and gets his wages doubled while he was at it.

United make actual profit on a squad player. For all his hard work, which I definitely admired, he was simply not good as a starting eleven player. Never was, never will be.

The Italian league is a slight step down in intensity, there was no actual interest from within the Premier league other than for peanuts, otherwise someone would have signed him. Both West Ham and Fulham looked elsewhere, which indicates his level.

Can only wish him well. I was at his debut v Crystal Palace and he looked a tidy prospect.

There's been a bit of chatter about this sort of thing 'killing our heritage, and tradition' which of course is bollocks as we've always had home grown players in the squad/team, we only have to look at Mainoo to see that and there will be many more.
