It’s a bad look for Mitchell, whoever is to blame. Not only is it a really mid/basic choice (like, anybody can see Guehi is ok, where’s the actual scouting?) but it appears to be a really stupid, unaffordable one that is going to make us look amateurish and ultimately smaller than Palace.

Really poor. The commercial and off-field leadership seems to be incredible, the on-field stuff is weak.
Apparently, upon being appointed, Mitchell immediately suggested making a move for Todibo, got the groundwork in place to do the deal and beat West Ham to the signing. Howe supposedly vetoed it.

Newcastle have to pay the amount.

He's probably ****e anyway and Southgates created another Maguire situation

With all due respect I'd love to hear how people are "hearing" these things saying as the club is as tight as a nuns crack these days.

It's amazing how even local journalists are doing guess work stories but Billy from the local knows someone who know's someone who babysits the kids of a junior foundation football coach and blabs about it.

I get the feeling someone is trying (PM) but someone else (EH) is dick swinging himself to an early sacking.
Relax, Newcastle aren't in the market to get screwed, Solanke £55m plus £10m add-ons, we looked at him but £65m fs We bought a mid championship midfielder, people laughed at the price we paid for Gordon and in Isak it was who?

Think a few are just a bit dumbstruck that this transfer window, which followed a dead January, the sale of players, a bunch of sponsorships, etc, has seen the arrival of a **** keeper from Forest, Ruddy, free Kelly and a kid from Sheff Utd. Then with the season rapidly approaching we have bid for the same player, who is the opposite of scouted, three times and still failed.

I know who we've actually signed. I'm meaning, where is the evidence of a fall out between Howe and Mitchell?

It’s hard to explain our dreadful window otherwise, in my opinion. The initial response from Howe was very spiky and given we seem to be exclusively scouting in England and given Mitchell hasn’t been in England for several years it suggests to me that they aren’t aligned. If I could go further a lot of howes managerial stance at Bournemouth was kind of “I trust my players” even in relegation.

There’s also the question of Howes nephew having a new boss so to speak. It just all feels off to me.

Okey doke.

The Howe interview WAS spiky. We ARE only interested in and signing English-based players and Mitchell hasn’t been in the country nor signed any for a number of years WHICH MEANS he and Howe aren’t aligned. The fact that Howe has a nephew in a major scouting role clearly compromises positions and our activity in general IS OFF.
