You see them at these protests....sorry riots, all waving their smart phones about lol...it's like it's some sort of magic forcefield that is protecting them. Only to find out when they get nicked that the coppers are saying thank you for evidence gathering for us. Even in the short time we've had smart phones, what happened to the days when you left your phone at home if you were going out to commit a crime. It's akin to someone burgling your house and leaving their drivers licence behind. They defo been watching too many movies and think they are Agent K and Agent J fooking twats.

Lol, wear a face covering but film yourself nicking 12 pairs of fake crocs from Wilko

From a social perspective it's all interesting to watch, it makes you realise how many are lifes failures, poorly educated white adults who now have an offspring of poorly educated white kids. While I have tongue in cheek as I say that, there is a more serious side asking why are they lifes failures, quite a few with criminal records I suspect, and often tatooed. Your typical English thugs. But the more serious side does make me question whether we are gettting our priorities right, and while we laugh at them, how many have to use food banks...the down side of all this is it is a long term problem, well beyond my lifetime and lots of young people who will be the future racists of this country, when you think you've driven it out, you haven't and at best all you will succeed in is driving it underground, we've failed them, as much as they've failed us.

I agree, the societal issues that breed this kind of behaviour are complex, and like you say a lot of it is down to poor education, poverty, parenting, generations on benefits, lack of ambition/opportunities, poor housing etc. And, whilst you have to take responsibilities for your own actions, many of those issues come down to how people have been failed at various points in their life.

The problem as I see it, is that while immigration is an issue that needs addressing, it's a separate issue from all of those that I've mentioned, yet we have politicians and social media commentators who want to lump it all together and blame immigrants for these people's problems, because they are an easy target and it deflects attention away from the actual causes. Whether it's jobs, housing, NHS, GP appts, etc

It's a tried and tested tactic that has been used time and again. And it gets people fighting each other, rather than concentrating their efforts on the people who create these conditions in the first place.

Use to be two priorities roof over your head and food, never use to be any foobanks. Instead of foodbanks resolving a problem, it just created one. Although there will be some in genuine need, I'd still question how much of that level of need comes down to not prioritising their finances responsibly, because as was seen in the riots, they all seem to have smart phones.

It's nothing new, demagogues have been making the same jingoistic speeches for 6000 years, all that really changes in human history is the technology.

I think the difference is their plea is my guess. Keir although he states the system is processing these in extra quick time, I reckon it's only those pleading guilty. If you look at the recent figures there is well over 700 arrested, but less than 200 processed, and around 300 charged, so Keir is painting a bit of a false narrative more to keep a lid on the riots and to scare people, and it seems to be working. I don't see how they can process someone quickly that pleads not guilty.

Also that the 'civil unrest' cases are being fast tracked through magstrates courts as part of a Government initiative, probably arrived at during the emergency COBRA meetings ...

The reality is that the riots are far more worrying for the Government and cost the country way more money than a couple of scrotes kicking off at an airport ...

Trying to compare sentencing between the two is a bit daft tbph ...

That said, I expect that the two brothers will be in some bother when it does come to trial ... and the case will likely go to Crown Court rather than the Magistrates...

Pictures and videos of the little runt that carried out the stabbing are on twitter, white male, but not posted on here as can't find a reliable source. Scruffy looking scrote, short hair, don't look that old.

I work less than 5 minutes away from there and often stroll into Chinatown and the surrounds to grab a bite for lunch ... it's usually packed with tourists and also lots of police - it's also noticeable just how many homeless people there are around there now - proper ones - not the begging gangs ... really shouldn't happen in a modern society with all the money we have swilling around ...

I nearly said he was probably a homeless guy, but thought better of it as I genuinely don't know.
