You know the answer to that. You can see what he's done over time and with infinite patience (and a 5th place disaster season). When klopp arrived he pushed gomez on and brought trent in and gave them both time at rb. He had more scope to do this as the squad was not stacked. Klopp gave kelleher chance after chance as well. Klopps also worked real hard to get harvey Elliott time.and games..probably too the detriment of the team level at times. He pushed jones very much as well despite the lad being written off time and again. Because he pushed those last when we did have the drop off they saved his arse. The season before last klopp pushed bajcetic as the seniors were on their last legs and debuted clark and doak. He tried carvalho and decided to get shut. Last year he obviously has more.scope as he did have a total disaster the year before and only had Europa. However he found far more scope to bring in more and more and more kids to give games to and gave far more debuts than people have seen in any other season, because he knew he was going anyway. Klopp have chance after chance to those who were there to put their hand up This comes to my point exactly. It only takes a k ock to derail kids careers. Throwing them all into men's football is like throwing them to the sharks. If our strategy is now sink or swim then most will sink as they need time and patience and games but some manager in the championship won't give it when their neck is on the line. Ben Woodburn was a decent little player, a typically classic lfc youth with not huge physicality but a nice touch. Sent on loan and had his jaw broken by a prick sending a message game 1. The lad never recovered. Morton did enough to get by and broke a metatarsel at Blackburn. Honestly I thought him too slow to make it. My point is I know most of these boys are precisely that, boys. They are not really ready for men's level football week in and were out. Players like McConnell need more time and patience but will get eaten alive. Throwing all these guys out on loan even when 2 in particular are only back from growing pain type injuries is really risky imo. If you've not the patience to put them on your own park and carry them. if you have no patience then in 2 years time don't be shocked you don't have the players to call on When you need them.
I actually don’t? So Quansah and Bradley? Prob the only 2, maybe add Elliott in there to make 3. Bajcetic maybe would be included if wasn’t for injury. But he’s brought in Nunez diaz gakpo szobo Konate Endo into the team and loaned and shipped out other youth. is that not exactly what’s happening now?l with slot?
rumours that were now going to make official bid and trigger the release clause for zubamendi. Wonder if that’s because of the solanke / carvahlo and Clarke deals
Kelleher? Jones? Trent? Quansah Bradley Elliott To even have s8x at a top 4 club is unusual doak was govne a lot more than 5mins btw but I wouldn't call that a complete project Bajcetic is in the same boat. Clark has nearly as many sub appearances as bajcetic The point being over 40 debuts and 100mil in transfers for tje ones who have not made it. That's the grand strategy at play. A significant proportion of tje first team squad is homegrown and the rest represent serious value. Yes carvalho fits that model perfectly as a buy then flip for profit but so does Elliott who's been injured, minded, brought through losses of form etc. Klopp has used and trusted kids right though in the right settings at times and then in major games at others. Let's see what slot does now. Throwing them all out on loan isnt the best idea especially for those who've had the injuries and need bringing on. You just seem to want to limit the work of klopp down to final 2 seasons. As I said it takes real time and patience to develop players through all the knocks and injuries and growth they go through.
Jones and Trent came through years ago. I already said Quansah and Bradley and gave you elliott even though he was brought from Fulham having already played league football
Bit of a stretch to suggest we've abandoned the policy of bringing on youth just because we've loaned out a few who would otherwise be struggling to get any minutes on the pitch.
Years lol. Klopp developed them all through.... yeah time and patience. Even if signed a young player needs that. Back to the actual point. Throwing Gordon and bajcetic out to the wolves to sink or swim after long injuries is stupid.
Or it’ll give an indication if they are up to the rigours of men’s football and put them in a good place for next season (also seen zero talk of Bajcetic going on loan) fwiw
Not when they are only back from serious injury! Just wait bajcetic has been rumoured tonbe going out
lets be honest here Bajcetic , Qujansah and Bradley only got their first team chances due to injuries
And klopps willingness to put them in so they are an option. Every young player has to be in the right place at the right time. Not many just force a senior man out through absolute brilliance. We could say trent and gomez only got a chance to develop as Co-rbs at the time cos others were awol Again the more chances klopp give kids the more chance they have of being in that right place. Bradley has been worked by lfc for years to be in the right place, he had to be loaned out and was slight but fit going. Gordon is probably too good to be sat in u21s again but he's lost 18months to injury and there's a fair chance he gets eaten alive in men's football or worse injured. He needs careful management so he's been sent to sink or swim. Doak imo needs games as his final ball is terrible. I don't want to see him go to a prem club as he needs to play play play. He's ideal for a good loan. Bajcetic has been out and recovering and again you can see a lad who needs 10 games to get near the speed of the man's game. That's time and patience territory. (Exaclty what elliott got from.klopp after his ankle injury)
you keep going on about patience so can i suggest you show a little bit of it yourself instead of slagging of Slot and his team within a few weeks of meeting the players .
It’s a shame That pre season counts for nothing because But the lads seem up for it atm but the serious stuff starts in six days Cant wait Obvs gonna worry like lmao
This game is the least exciting of the preseason games I have watched Prob down to the lack of crowd ? Seems flat
Quotes from VVD. not often hear about players saying need more signings. Van Dijk was asked about talks over a new deal after Liverpool's 4-1 pre-season win over Sevilla and said: "There are no changes at the moment." Asked about the season ahead and the lack of signings so far this summer, Van Dijk added: "I am positive. I am confident. "Obviously, I think we should make some signings based on how long the season will go but I think they are working behind the scenes and I'm fully convinced, and trust the club, that they will do the right thing for us and get the best possible squad to compete in every competition
not to put to fine a point on it the club could do with knowing which ,if any ,of the 3 are willing to sign new contracts on reasonable terms
