Sonewhere around 6m. Shame I thought he looked tidy but unspectacular. Unfortunately for him he’s in an area where we have so much depth competing with players like Bajcetic Elliott Gravenberch jones who are all under 23 before even get to szobo mac and possibly zubamendi
I think we are saying we don't need 3 cms or a left sided cm here. It'd a pair and a advanced 8 to 20 centrally. We are also saying forget the kids and thsts yesterday's strategy now. We've just about gone for a clean sweep of anyone we might have developed over the course of a season at anfield
Not rocket science is it? Rooting around down the back of the sofa by selling off future possible talent to try afford a player isn't a great look though.
We have made £10m or £15m out of the Carvalho deal,I think that may have been the idea with some of these youngsters. All good business.
5 to Fulham for him 5 more to fuljam as sell on something out of leipzig as loan fee10 profit possible next 5 mil is profit and 2 to fulham as well. 17.5% sell on bonus if he smashes it but I doubt it. Yes I'd call that OK business as we targeted him for that and klopp never fancied him. He has an eye for goal.but not really the juice/desire. Slot.hasnt fancied him but used him cos he didn't have gakpo or diaz back. In isolation it looks OK. Clark was a 1.5mil buy. He's done OK but looks physically slight still and has a few injuries. Getting 6 or 8 back also looks good in isolation. Loaning out Gordon, bajcetic, koumas.might look OK. Doak being up for sale as well? McConnell out? See the pattern forming? No room to develop here. Klopp put huge effort and time and probably cost himself a season developing jones and Elliott. Are we pivoting away from this now and looking to just have established players? Are we just saying with all the football to come with expanded cl format thst there's zero room to develop the young men we've gone out and poached? Quansah and Bradley might be very lucky they have established themselves now. Let's see that slot does now. Is he all about results? Does he feel he needs to be? Is it a bad thing?
Surely one of the reasons Slot was chosen was his ability to bring on the youth players? At some point the club has to make a decision on each individual player re. keep/sell
No idea. What we are seeing right now is the precursor to this season and it's something to be looking out for. There's huge opportunity to develop chosen players in this season. 2 4th seed games in cl, leavue cup, fa cup league games with 5 subs etc. If we are saying hey Gordon, doak and bajceitc need to toughen up on loan then fair enough. Time will yell. These are really the cream of the poached players we are putting put there. We have younger players as well now that can come in but also a stacked squad at the same time. Only time will tell but we seem to have zero interest right now in developing ourself so let's see.
One minute you say the lad isn't good enough, then he's "future talent" we're getting rid of to pay for someone who is? Damned if you do, damned if you don't...
Quite possibly....... but we are not going to throw away our extremely promising crop of youngsters. Some will make it,some won't.
Just wondering if we really need the chas thst much to get these.bids over the line that's all. Clark is good but he is for sure still slight of build. I think he is a similar player to jones but 4 years his junior so not developed and doesn't fit the new regime system. I said exactly the same about bajcetic last week and again got pillioried for saying he wasn't ready. It takes time and patience to develop players. The finny thing is jones took huge time.and patience to develop by klopp but I can't see him developing at this time under slot if he was the 19year old he was then Lets see though.
Yes not every one can make it. Similar story to sterling vibe v Ince v amoo. We picked one to back and shed the rest. Right now lfc have both Gordon and doak but also have koumas, danns, kone Doherty and even more coming behind them. The thing is that we have not thst much at rw as cover but we've not backed any kid to get enough gsme time so will send them off elsewhere (perhaps permanently) and hope some manager doesn't just drop them under pressure and then ignores them. Let's see what we do. It's a big squad but I'd be disappointed to see a lot.of average seniors like tsimiaks and endo sat on the bench week in week out taking the odd 20mins we could have used to develop talent with.
I don't think it's very constructive to use terms like "pilloried" just because someone disagrees. You're entitled to express your opinions and others are equally entitled to express an opposing view. That's why we're here isn't it?
Think that’s a bit of a stretch. Koumas was never getting game time this year. Clarke at best a few cup games. Carvahlo hasn’t played for club for 2 years so hardly a youth player being shipped out that klopp was developing. Quansah and Bradley heavily involved pre season. Jaros involved. VD berg been heavily involved. Nyoni heavily involved despite it prob being a year too soon for him.
You said slot is destroying the whole youth development because he’s potentially sold 2 players (1 that was away on loan 2 years) and one that looked promising but was probably 7/8th choice (also we don’t know if Clarke has asked to go). And we’ve loaned out 2 more in Koumas and Gordon who we’re never going to get regular game time for us - better a year on loan getting experience and coming back like Quansah / Bradley / vd berg did. I think condemning the manager for selling all our talent 6 weeks into the job when he was specifically brought in because of his ability to intergrate and develop youth is a bit harsh. Don’t forget these 20 year olds have been playing klopps 433 their entire lfc careers at youth level and now we’ve a new manager playing 4231 and that midfield either needs a defensive pivot or a 10 and doesn’t really need 2 8s like it did under klopp.
You've basically ignored what I said and lumped players I said are very fortunate to have already made their breakthroughs into the group of players who might get no shot. It takes time and patience and giving a chance to players to develop them. Time will tell here but this is a far wider thing that 2 players going on loan and one sold. We could be seeing a lot more loaned out by the end of this
