New Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has bemoaned the fact the club was 'forced' into selling academy graduate Gallagher, arguing that it "isn't fair to the fans" to have to watch home grown players leave the club.

No Enzo, what isn't fair is the fact that Chelsea have spent the past two decades cheating, a practice which is finally being slowed down and the knock-on effect of signing young players for £100m on 27-year contracts is that you might have to sell academy players to make it all balance.

Then again, I wouldn't expect a former Leicester manager to understand the difference between cheating and fair play.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to fetch my violin.

Thoughts and prayers.
Having seen the size of Chelsea's squad, I'm beginning to think that they're largely responsible for our immigration figures.
Crying that they have to somehow balance this endless "investment" of £20m on any ****er they've heard of is pathetic.

Something tells me you’re not gonna see many blokes in the crowd or in pubs wearing Southampton’s third kit this season.

I feel like most kit manufacturers are just trolling fans at this point.

I reckon they have an annual summit in early spring and place bets on who can charge people the most money to look like the biggest muppet.

Some of our recent offerings probably made the podium.

Definitely feels that way, it's blown a lot of our recent monstrosities out of the water.

Seriously can't see that selling well amongst their fanbase.

There are a lot of young daughters of fans. If you have 3 kits you can go for all sectors of the market and exploit everbody. Daddy Daddy I want that pink one.

I'd say you'd have a possible point if the club was a global force but Southampton barely have any fans as it is in the grand scheme of things, catering to probably less than 5% of that market of the club doesn't feel like a smart idea at all considering what it'll probably cost to mass produce those shirts.

That's why I'm surprised that the men and women's teams have the same kits.
I'd have thought that they'd have at least tried to do the 2nd and 3rd kits differently.

I suppose the season will be starting as soon as the clubs return from around the world.Have they ordered their future invalid chairs one wonders?

West Ham are set to sign Todibo. Was linked with us throughout last season as another CB to join after van de Ven.

Was supposedly in talks with Juve but West Ham have now jumped in. Could be a decent signing for them.

Kurt Zouma is off to Saudi for an early retirement.

Someone should warm him: many of the cats there are feral.

Wan-Bissaka to West Ham, good signing for them, probably the best defensive one-on-one RB in the league, though offers very little going forward.

They seem to be really going for it this summer, spending has well supassed £100m, some decent additions too.
