JCS clears a certain goal off the line. We can barely get the ball into the final third.

Always hard to tell but I get the impression we’re going in a bit undercooked. Possibly on purpose with a view to peaking when it matters but that first month is a horrible set of fixtures if we aren’t 100% at it.

Similar to last season fitness-wise then? Wasn't that the plan from the sports science dude...so we were stronger in 2nd half of season? Don't think we want to be cutting that fine again

I’m sure they’re fit just maybe not as match sharp as some other teams. It feels like we haven’t played many matches including the behind closed doors games. Quite a lot of important players without many minutes.

Brighton look very good. We've done well to get to half time without conceding. Constant pressure and a couple of good saves from our new GK.

At least it is good training for our defensive skills. :)

Stop fcking around at the back.

An outlet upfront may help though.

0-1 (penalty). JCS caught with the ball, not for the first time.

0-1, I thought the penalty was very soft. The challenge by Colback which the ref deemed a penalty, was no worse than the one three seconds earlier on JCS but didn't award him the free kick. 0-0 would've probably been a fair result. Anyway, a narrow defeat to a good Prem side isn't too shabby, although the lack of goals, chances and keep trying to play out from the back is concerning.

360 mins now without scoring ! We are gonna have a horror first month unless we get some attackers in. Chair with ongoing back issues and Willock gone, there's just a massive lack of creativity. Andersen isn't good enough to create much on his own and Smyth's end product is usually minge . The bench looks awful, there's no one on it who can change a game at all. Hopefully we bring in some decent options on the flanks and an attacking midfielder, otherwise it's gonna be a very long season !
