Good Morning. It's Friday 2nd August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Has Cree failed his medical

Country to public belief, Cree Summerville may NOT have passed his medical at West Ham Utd.

He underwent a full medical yesterday morning (9am), at a state of the art clinic in Harley Street,
and was supposed to have boarded a plane yesterday afternoon (16:00) to Florida, but spent another night at his suite in Marble Arch, a five minute journey to Harley Street.

It could very well be that the Hammers are waiting for medical results to come back, but why they would take so long is puzzling! Some are speculating that Summerville is still ironing out the finer details of his contract, but the source I have been speaking with, is urging caution, and still believes the deal could still collapse!

Whittaker's £10m pilgrimage to ER

Plymouth Argyle forward Morgan Whittaker is being strongly linked with a Summer move to Elland Road, following Crysencio Summerville's impending exit!

Whittaker, 23, registered 19 goals, eight assists and 64 chances for an average Pilgrims side last season. His performances were so impressive that he was included in the Championship Team of the Season. He likes to cut inside from the right wing, shooting with his left - in other words, he would be the mirror image of Summerville, but from the opposite flank!

Where does this leave Dan James and Wilfred Gnonto? Both are capable of playing in a variety of forward roles, but spend the majority of their time on the right wing. Do Leeds need both, especially if they're going to sign the former Derby County Academy player!

Scottish giants Rangers have already had two offers rejected, whilst Burnley are trying to put together a part exchange deal involving midfielder Scott Twine and centre-half Luke McNally. Plymouth are holding out for £10m for their talisman, even though he has entered the final twelve months of his contract!

Fans fume at Summerville sale price

Keyboard warriors were out in force on Thursday, as news broke of Crysencio Summerville's impending £25m - £30m move to West Ham.

The 22yo provided 617 accurate final third passes, created 122 chances (17 big chances), 21 goals, 10 assists and won three penalties for the Whites; winning him EFL Championship Player of the Season last season.

His departure leaves a massive hole on the left wing, which obviously can be plugged by a number of players; but whichever way you look at it, will significantly weaken Leeds abilities to break down opposition defences.

Why Leeds didn't play hard ball like they did last season with Gnonto is baffling! Summerville is a contracted player until the Summer of 2026. Promotion next season is worth over £200m, by which time Summerville would still have 12 months left on his contract, and probably worth £20m! The clubs inability to have a sell-on fee just goes to prove that they have leant nothing from past experiences.

IF Gnonto stays, then it seems he will be moved to the left, James is definitely a right sided player, so does that leave someone like Whittaker as cover for both sides? Or is he a Gnonto replacement? Or is it just clickbait?

Lot of speculation on why the Summerville deal hasn't yet happened, from failing or at least a slight problem with the medical, to Liverpool have hijacked the deal, some saying he hasn't agreed personal terms also West Ham tried to move the goal posts on the fee.All will become clearer today, I would think.

Morning all. So fans fume if Summerville is sold at 25m but happy if sold at 40m. Shows you where fans priorities lie these days. Do they play monopoly every night for their kicks. It makes no difference what we get. It’s the replacing of him that’ll make a difference. Any word on Kinnear. Rumours a week ago he was on way out. Also wouldn’t it be interesting if Summerville deal fell through. We could potentially start season with four players on field who don’t want to be there. Wober aaronson Gnonto and Summerville would all prefer to be elsewhere it seems

I think most fans were expecting Jimmy to be gone by the end of the season, most not happy but could see why, the anger is at the fee and if the reported add ons are true, then we can forget £4m worth of them.
I can see where you're coming from with the 4, bit I would expect all 4 to give their all if they stay, only producing good performances will get them the clubs they want.

None of us know the details of any transfer deals done. Whether there’s sell ones, what percentage etc. Whatever happens, if Cry goes, I said on here after the season ended, that I thought Whittaker would be a very good acquisition. I wouldn’t be happy losing Cry, but Whittaker would be a good replacement.

Summerville continues West Ham medical
Latest from Sky Sports' Dharmesh Sheth:

Crysencio Summerville will have the second part of his West Ham medical this morning.

It’s hoped he can finalise his move from Leeds soon after.

All being well, West Ham will then make a decision on whether he would benefit from flying out to the USA for the remainder of the club’s pre-season tour or stay in London.

A deal was agreed on Thursday.

Morning all

If you read West Ham fans take on it, they seem to think there are two stumbling blocks, Summerville wants a 5 year deal, West Ham are offering 4 and West Ham have tried to change the structured payment, they also believe they have a steal at £25m

Gnonto left side, James right, Aaronson cover for both would be how I see it. I’d take Whittaker for £10m any day of the week. That would leave me switching James to the left and selling Gnonto

Four players who want to play at a higher level doesn’t concern me, as long as they are willing to knuckle down. They’ll have to be in the shop window with stand out performances, that’s only good for us

Has anyone heard of a two part medical?

Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Think I’m safe in saying that there has never been a championship player from midfield or wing area that sold for £40m or anything near it. £25m is a great price and with add ons could rise to £34m. Brilliant. Archie price was all about his potential and young age. Always liked Jimmy but he was a bit of a one trick pony at the end and pretty predictable, plus often chose the wrong option

Morning All. I wouldn’t have thought you would be undergoing a medical if all the agreements for the deal weren’t in place?

Didn’t Leicester get over £40 million for Maddison from Tottenham?

Most of the West Ham medical team are in the states with the players. Skeleton staff left behind. That might be why it's a 2 parter.

Quite a few have gone for over £30 million.

Lavia went for £62 million.

Typically the norm over the last 4/5 years for the championship's top young attacking talent has been around £20m + add-ons - Eze, Bowen, Benrahma all went for that kind of number. Olise was cheap because of release clause (tidy profit palace made there). Buendia seemed very over-priced at £30m+

You know someone the other day was paying more up front to reduce the sell on clause in a transfer deal (maybe Gyokeres, Sporting Lisbon, Coventry etc)? Can we not do a deal with Milky to lose the Lampard avatar a bit sooner? It’s wearing thin already tbh after a great start.
