That Turkish don last night in the shooting is gonna be a meme for life. See all these other people go in with specialist lenses and eyewear that probably costs thousands, he just rocks up with standard reading glasses, hand in pocket and bags a silver medal.

Apparently the hand in the pocket is normal for the event but he did look cool. Like he was just taking an hour off slicing doner to win silver then straight back to asking ‘chilli sauce boss?’

What’s the deal with this Algerian female/male boxer? She’s passed the tests to compete. I don’t think trans women should be competing in sports like boxing but it sounds like she’s just been born in a way that has given her some advantage hormonally while not such an advantage as to get far when fighting at the last Olympics.

Basically the Olympics are allowing him to fight women.

But he’s not a bloke. Or is he? Like it’s not a trans thing but she/he/they/it has just been born with more testosterone rather than doing something to gain an advantage.

Read earlier they tested positive for XY chromosomes and failed gender tests in the past, there's another set to fight in a similar boat too. Eye test also says to me that almost certainly ain't a woman. The Italian boxer quitting that early after the first punch probably also hints towards something she knows too.

There's also the comments from the IOC bloke:
"I would just say that everyone competing in the women's category is complying with the competition eligibility rules."
"They are women in their passports and it is stated that is the case."
He added it would be "invidious and unfair" to discuss details of individual athletes.

-----------------
Dunno about anyone else but that just sounds like tiptoeing about. Surely you could just say "she was born a woman" and then Bob's your uncle and everything is put to rest, except it seems in this case, I'm pretty positive Bob's your aunt.

I'm absolutely shocked that with all of Britains knife crime we don't have a medalist in Fencing

Posho sport. How many kids did you know doing Sunday morning fencing as a youth? If they bothered to do some scouting in Croydon or Ladbroke Grove we’d be cleaning up in shooting and fencing.

Where I came from tennis was considered gay

It's a difficult one - not transgender - just a very masculine woman - might be old fashioned to say it, but ... if someone is born with a fanny then, for me, they are female ... with a cock, male ...

... with no balls ... a future Spurs fan ...

Imane Khelif 1of 2 athletes cleared by IOC to compete in women's boxing in Paris, having been disqualified from last year's World Champs for failing to meet eligibility criteria. Her Italian opponent took one punch and quit.

Apparently the one punch she took was a full straight jab to her FACE and smashed her nose

If this nonsense is not stopped before long the only women taking part in sport will be trans or male identifying as a women

Both have lived as females their whole lives and have the correct genitalia. Their DSQ was done by an unrecognised Russian association 3 days after they'd won their titles, in the Algerian's case, by beating a Russian who was then awarded gold.
As for the Italian taking 1 punch and quitting, where's her boxer's heart? The others took her punches and didn't quit.

The boxer is a biological female. When reading the initial press it did make me think she was a transgender athlete.

but it appears she has the same condition as Caster Semenya. Plus being transgender in Algerian society isn’t viewed favourably with fines/arrests/prison time a ‘punishment’
