TBH i don't see a problem with this, if the delay was at original kick off then both teams started at the same time, if it was after half time then both teams got a longer rest (and possibly extra time for the managers to speak with them).
This will be related to TV company's whinging about ****ing their program schedule up by 2 mins.

Hold on a minute here, City are worth billions?

So, say the oil emirate of Abu Dhabi (the ones with the actual billions) decide to sell City as a club.

Someone would pay billions for them?

    Nah.

    Someone bought Chelsea for $5.4b.

You don't reckon that City could be sold for $2b?

    Come on.

Why would they sell? ... as 'small change' hobbies go, this one is giving them loads of fun ...

Well you've said dollars there, I would be talking in pounds. Chelsea are in, well, Chelsea. City are in North Manchester

But even then, say Abu Dhabi were to walk away and Pep goes too, then City become a top half premier league entity again.

They are just not that self sustaining behemoth like actual big clubs are.

Their 'worth' is nowhere near what they 'have', which is entirely due to being bank rolled by an oil emirate.

All big international deals like that are done in dollars & I would be absolutely shocked if in 2024 the owners of City couldn't get atleast $1-2b dollars for the football club. I think people in the UK misjudge the growing international appeal of City, they're becoming a huge club.

If you go below $1b you are now talking about City being closer in valuation to Newcastle United which they simply are not, they're miles ahead.

OK, I'd agree in that case that you might get them for one or two billion dollars.

They aren't huge on world wide stage though.

Anyone buying City would also need to have a bottomless pit as they aren't self sustaining. The Arabs have cooked the books since day one and everyone knows it.

Thing is ... and no disrespect meant to Chelsea- but back in the 80s they were almost as much a yo-yo club as us - and were getting similar gates... now, as you point out, they do have a distinct advantage of location ... but ...

Nobody in their right mind could have predicted they could be what they are today - and that is 100% down to Abramovic's millions injected over his tenure and the success on the pitch that resulted from it ...

No reason to think that Citeh won't continue getting the same level of investment over the next decade, and with both further infrastructure and brand investment over that period, and very likely further success on the pitch, IMHO if sold it will be for billions and I don't think they will go back to merely being a top half prem team ...

All about opinions of course ...

Yeah, and lots of folk said that the Saudi league was a risk to the European leagues.

    No one is interested.

City are what they are, a non entity bankrolled by an oil emirate.

And that's what they would go back to if, (conceptually) the Arabs left.

Just as aside weren't the yanks who bought Chelsea contractually obliged to almost immediately start the process of expanding Stamford Bridge or plans for a new stadium yet nowt has happened .
The Govt should confiscate the club and see how many billions they can get and if it is big enough the crumblies can have their winter fuel payment :bandit:

The jealousy and bitterness should have ended by now. It's not as if any club has been built organically.

The bully clubs got bullied.. that's it really.
