Unfortunately mate, they are in all walks of life

The ones in the BBC just get highlighted because they are high profile

But, I do think there is an element of these people thinking they are untouchable because of their status.
Wont matter i a few years when the lgbtq community have made ****philia a protected sexual preference

One thing I don't understand about the Huw Edwards situation.

If it was in a WhatsApp group where are his co-defendants?

Yeah some major disorder last night in Southend, trouble was it was when Southport was kicking off, so didn't get the news attention it otherwise would have.

So again we look at those in government, whether Labour or Tory MP's and ask what are you going to do about it.

It's a long term fix imo. You have to look back over the decade or so and see where funding has been cut for youth clubs, youth workers, young offender programmes and community engagement schemes and get those people engaged again with football, boxing, music, DJing etc. Supporting them with training and education and housing etc. Paying proper mentors to work with these kids and steer them away from crime and violence.

In the short term, there needs to be much tougher sentences for carrying and threatening people with knives. But as I mentioned on another thread, those custodial sentences need to be targeted with support around education on the effects of knife crime, and how to stop people reoffending. Simply locking them away won't solve it.

Imo, if all of this was put in place, it will still take years to sort out. But it's an investment worth making.

It's not really a long term fix, if that was a bunch of fans attending a Southend football match, police would go to the station and start kettling them. Why are we treating this differently. As I said yesterday the intelligence is out there, in the same way if they were looking for intelligience on football fans. If football fans were running amok, they would deal with it, so deal with these fookers to and lets stop making excuses for it.

If you're talking about the Southport incident, then yeah, that was whipped up by **** knuckles like the EDL and you would have thought the Police would have had intel on that and stopped it at the stations.

If you're talking about the Southend incident with a bunch of knifey youth, then what I said above is completely the way to tackle it.

No, Southend was whipped up to, by ****ers on tiktok, there was problems at the station, like I said the intelligience was there to what was going on, and they were asking LOCAL people to help by staying away.

These incidents occurred as a "large influx" of young people headed to the city, reportedly for a beach party advertised on TikTok. Unverified reports suggested that Adventure Island has shut its gates, and a pub alongside numerous shops had apparently locked their doors amid fears for safety.7 hours ago

Maybe the Police can deal with immediate situations better if they've got intel.

What I said above was the longer term fix for theses problems.
