So essentially if he’s not happy he’ll go. No s*** Sherlock. Like anyone in any job. He also said he was happy. Nothing contentious there
Nobody said any different but when you have a director put in position who’s above you in the corporate ladder you don’t pander to some knob end who blagged salesman of the month 2 years ago

Simples.

Howe is asked a question by a journalist.

Howe answers question. Nothing contentious. States the obvious.

Too many people examining the fluff in their navels and suddenly becoming a cross between Joe Navarro and Dr Cal Lightman.

<laugh>

If it was Steve Bruce you'd be saying it was unprofessional... you know why ?

Because it was.

It’s ****ing baffling to me. We literally employ a team of people to scout players all year long. How do you then arrive at the point of the year where you can buy people, then claim - as Howe has - it’s a “difficult window” (again)? Is part of a scouts remit not to find out about feasibility? Surely anyone and everyone can say “that Michael Olise is a good player” but isn’t it the responsibility of Nickson or Howe Jr to work out very quickly that we have zero chance of signing him because Chelsea will trump out wages and Bayern will trump us regardless?

On the youth side we employed a lot of talent spotters and that seems to be going well, I just cannot fathom what this club is doing when it comes to senior transfers. It’s like we’re analysing every piece of available data and then deciding that, nope, Fabian Schar is the best you can possibly have. Or Almiron is absolutely top of the tree. It’s ****ing mental.

I suspect while Howe is busy pretending he doesn't want final say that' he's been saying no to players.

The entire thing... saying something about it in the first place and using the media as a platform to play out the clubs internal affairs.
He replied to a question. What has he “played out”? Yes there have been changes. I’m very happy here, if that changed we would have to see but it’s not the case. Despite your insistence otherwise he openly said he doesn’t have the final say on transfers and there is collaboration, or you could say common sense. I just don’t see how any of that is controversial or playing things out in the press. Some people’s hopes for trouble make them see what they want to see rather than actually looking at the evidence eh?
