That's exactly what I am saying and it is a proper analysis of the situation. Some signings will be well above average in terms of value and some will be well below. The only correlation I can see is that the higher the fee the less likely you will lose out. There is no evidence at all that Spurs are worse than average at this, never mind so bad that anyone ought to be blamed.
No, he hasn't. Physicality and the melee is what sets the PL apart from other leagues. If you cannot deal with that for staters, then everything else you have is moot. Which is why we have phrases such as : Can he do it on a wet winter wednesday night in Stoke ??
He is suffering from "confirmation bias" , and therefore is forever looking for anything that could suggest that Spurs are remarkably bad in this aspect wrt to their peers.
Oh god, that last sentence... Take the hint, Bryan: you're an obstacle getting in the way of Mikey Moore getting minutes
Being as it is that he couldn't do it on a warm Saturday afternoon on the Iberian Peninsula, no, I doubt he could do it on a cold wet night in Stoke.
This is definitely true. I think where we perhaps performed worse than most teams is in the fact that not a single player signed between Wanyama in 2016 and Romero in 2021 actually improved the team. In fact most of them went on to barely feature at all until they eventually left Spurs having contributed almost nothing (some are still here and still contributing almost nothing). That is a horrendous run of poor recruitment that I doubt you'll see at any other major club, with Man United being the only possible exception.
Everton too. I mean I respect the fact they went for it but ****ing hell they made a real hash. We got very fortunate though in that we had Kane and Son, it’s frightening to think where we could’ve been without those two over roughly a 4 year spell where they carried the team. Everton certainly don’t/ didn’t have a Kane or Son and they’ve almost been relegated for about three years on a trot.
Yang’s started following Spurs on insta apparently. I can see this move being announced before, during or after the game on Wednesday, he’ll likely be playing against us, so it’ll be a sort of showcase piece to then announce his transfer at some point around the game.
Not sure about that, as I can't seem to find his Insta profile anywhere - though Yang has got a Wikipedia page at last
You're right but I don't consider Everton as a major club. Irrelevant annoyance to fill up the Merlin sticker collection at best.
Agree about the annoyance but I do generally consider them a massive club. Feels like they should be up here with us and Villa as the teams looking to crack that elite group.
Would be the best announcement ever if he just switched sides at half time and came out in a Spurs shirt.

Another good youngster with potential signed Surely now the club has to be focusing on the 2/3 that can come in and immediately make a difference
Sounds like Yang rejected one of City or Chelsea to join us. He’s been doing a press conference with Gangwon staff (maybe chairman/ director?) and they’ve said: “It is true that another big 6 PL team that recently won the UCL had also enquired about Yang. That team had nice plans about Yang’s development and had approached us earlier than Spurs. But what I didn’t realise at the time was that Yang had his heart set on Tottenham. I even asked him if he wanted to go to that other club, but Yang straightly refused, saying he wanted to only join Spurs. To make it clear, it was Yang, rather than Gangwon, who made the choice to pick Tottenham as his next club. I respected the player’s wish.” ——————— Gwaaaarn, Yang, love that .
