Just watched this, ****in' hell, there is a lot of work (and money) going into the stadium. Clearly needed, and required, Portman Road is finally getting a face lift and will be something to be proud of!!!
Just watched the Brett Johnson piece. Obviously mostly answering questions about the Rhode Island project and catering to the fan base there. I wouldn't read too much into his lack of mention of Ipswich, it's not like he was really asked many questions directly about the club. What I did take from it though was, he's obviously an astute investor with experience in many fields, including real estate and marketing, and that shows in how our club is being transformed.

That stadium renovation video was really enlightening. Clearly a lot of planning, work, and money is going into renewing the stadium and the facilities. I don’t envy people at the club with the task they have ahead of them. It’s clearly going to be a challenge to upgrade everything for Premier League football (a lot has changed in twenty years!) and the club is going about things in the right way. It also brings into focus just how bad the Marcus Evans ownership was in taking pride in the club and investing in our infrastructure.
Watching the video, I really struggle to see how they can get most of that all done and dusted by the Liverpool game! Fair play if we manage it.

Getting automatic promotion definitely helped the timeline, it would've been far more difficult to get the work needed done if we'd had play off games before knowing we were going up.
I thought the video is damage limitation and expectation management. They should be two thirds of the way through and clearly they are not. Too many nice-to-haves have been implemented. Expect to see either Liverpool postponed, or the game pulled from TNT sports and large numbers of supporters shut out and compensated. They can do without some of the supporters but the two things they cannot do without is VAR functioning and safety certificates.
The reasons I’m not confident are 1) the number of people on site - 200 should be more like 500 if there are a hundred projects and 2) Mark Ashton talking about an open day. Just let the construction people crack on day and night and weekends too - you haven’t got the luxury of that.
