I gathered this from the reporting that they are annoyed about Man United not signing Braithwaite (I mentioned this the other day). I really get the impression that they were sort of relying on a massive Maguire sized fee for him that is almost certainly not coming
£50m Bonkers. Surprised Villa haven’t seemed to have any FFP issues, they can’t still be living off selling Grealish and have spent **** loads since their return to the PL
Disappointing we didn’t give Meghoma a proper chance and instead shoe horned Stephens in at left back last season, but whether Meghoma is going to be starting at Leipzig or Ajax is debatable
Since returning to the Premiership, Villa have spent well over £100m every summer, that’s why they are pushing the top clubs
Their net spending is not excessive according to this site... https://www.football365.com/news/transfers-premier-league-five-year-net-spend-man-utd-man-city 8th highest over the last 5 years on a par with the Spammers. We spent £123m the year we went down!... Got it all back last season though.
Leipzig no. Ajax maybe. How many games did we play Stephens at left back though ? edit : 4 in the league
Villas owners are absolutely minted. They have the foundations in place to be a contender at the top for a while. onana is a fantastic signing - one of many. Villa keep smashing it out of the park recently
I'd have Stephens at LB over a 17 year old all day. Let's not be daft. Meghoma started 4 cup games. Probably not many lads his age get that amount of game time.
Meghoma’s not exactly looked like a 30m+ player on the cusp of a move to a European club though. Indeed he was so far from contention at the club that the Leeds player ended up at that he left to join us for game time that he STILL wasn’t good enough for. So they aren’t exactly equal comparisons
