Who says he won't get first team football here this coming season. Apart from Jones who else do we have at Centre back?
I think that’s the only reason tan said they’d accept an offer. If it was best for Sean’s career and he got to play
I wouldn’t say easily impressed PLT, he’s just refreshingly honest and direct. It’s what we always wanted from the Allam’s and he brings a nice blend of realism and ambition
I hope you are right - but the season starts in 4 weeks so he might be needed for those early games. Unless we sign a centre half before then who else plays alongside Jones?
Yeh, it sounded like the club is unwilling to give assurances of playing time so he may well want to leave.
Waking up to Rak-Sakyi and Yosolu is exactly the sort of stuff you want to be seeing really, both would massively improve the first team. Tans a slick operator, reminded to give the club a bit of trust when he talks I reckon they will get it right especially with Walter guiding them to the exact profile of players he wants.
Tbh Acun should be limited to 'good luck' and 'congratulation' messages and Tan should be the mouthpiece of the club. Often he's saying the exact same things but communicates it clearly and adds the right level on content/rationale. The club shouldn't be an open book which is how Acun communicates, Tan often fines the right nuanced balance. Also seen a lot of fans on Twitter getting worked up that Acun has been quoted as saying Fenerbache is his priority. He's just appeasing the crowd and telling each fan base what they want to hear. A good example is Giles, although this is in comparison to Baz and the media/not Acun. They bought him (how and why aren't important now), the club and/or Walter want the player to stay and think he can play a part for us. Tan alludes to interest in Giles and that Giles is perhaps open to a conversation about moving on. Tan goes on to essentially say he struggled to settle in (fit in Rosenior's system) but they're hoping he can fit in and enjoy Walter's system and things at the moment are in s positive place. Its probably likely that pre-Walter Giles was almost certainly going to move on once he signed and that as a collective that has now changed, I get the feeling that most of the more concrete rumours (Willock and Ohio) weren't far off the money and they are likely the players Walter turned down. It's also been alluded to that we'll be working with a tighter squad which is why the conencus on Ryan Longman has changed, a versatile, experienced Championship player.
Ipswich in for Rak-Sakyi according to some ITK people on their end. Could Ipswich politely **** off a little please? Blackburn forward Sammie Szmodics is also available for £6m as they are slashing their budgets. We should be all over that.
Acun said he wouldn't sell for less than 30m euros. That was in the context of the club choosing to cash in on him, meaning we wanted to keep him. The situation changes once the player shows that he wants to go. Then it's a case of taking the best deal on offer (from a club the player will accept a move to); 'best' also includes consideration of timing. That's what happened. It really shouldn't be difficult to understand. Re. Tan. Great to hear his reassuring, calming input. I'm surprised we haven't heard more from him by now. A say weekly interview would only take up say half an hour of his time. I find it hard to believe some on here choose to twist and doubt what he's saying - even more so when the Allam era is still relatively fresh in our minds. As Burnsey would say, "give your head a wobble".
I enjoyed Tan's interview but I thought he was a little clumsy actually. There were certain things Tim didn't want to say in his interview about individual players and Tan basically grassed on him haha.
Currently... We've sold all our best players. Management are doing nowt constructive, just bigging up the players who have returned from loans that they were sent on because they weren't good enough for us. And desperately bigging up a crop of academy boys who've never been anywhere near the first team. Once the hapless Germans get up to speed it'll all be brilliant though.
