We are the Champions, Champions of Europe. I’ve sung it a hundred times with no shame, I believe it, we were robbed and, likely, most teams around Europe won’t begrudge us that. Im not an England fan in the way Chesh is but, I wouldn’t want to see us win this tournament on the back of that decision, it was diabolical and ruins football for everyone. Can you imagine celebrating an England victory on the back of that? I honestly can’t.
On the penalty.... There is a difference between what you think the rules SHOULD be and what the rules ARE. The rules state that leading with the studs is reckless play and is punishable with a free kick (penalty) and possible red and yellow card. That's why it was a penalty. Do I agree with this rule? No. For me it should have been an acceptable attempt to block the shot but that's not what the rules are in today's game. Game has been non contact for a while.
