A shot that hits the post and doesn’t go in goes down as off target. This isn’t a matter of opinion.

The target is the area where a goal can be scored..hitting the post/bar and it not going in therefore is not the target, it isn't hard to grasp.
... and if you read back you originally said it had 'missed' the target ... I merely pointed out it had, in fact, hit it ... I never mentioned the word 'on' either ... please concentrate more ... and would you like your candy back?
So if it hits the post and goes in is it classed as a deflected off target shot?

No. Partly because that isn’t a statistic anyone collates and partly because it is then a shot on target.
If it hits both posts, bounces out and a dog heads it in then what?
Not if it hit the post it isn't (alledgedly)
