Dixon beat me to it with the Gordon banks, '70 comparison. Breathtaking. Pleasure to have watched this game tonight. <diva>

I liked this ref, no falling for theatrics and none of this standing on the keeper nonsense, which has always been against the rules as they're written.

I think we have one good performance this tournament
The problem will be the circus that follows the squad following that performance
That will be felt in the camp
So we need to keep getting through ugly and then turn up in the final for me
That said - I think we will struggle to get past Switzerland
They are very well organised and effective

The Swiss are a strong unit with plenty of experience... but there is enough talent in this Englsnd squad to beat them, provided we put out a balanced team that plays to our strengths... no more fish out of water positional experimentation ...

That said, left back is still a problem and I'm not sure that a half-fit Luke Shaw is the solution in a Q/F ... it was noticeable that we almost immediately became more fluid when Saka and then Eze took up the position ... and Palmer did a fine job wide right and was certainly one of our most effective and creative players against the Slovaks ...

I'd also start Toney against the Swiss ...

    Regarding this left back problem

Joe Gomez has played there for us many many times and is probably a better option than a broken Luke shaw or saka/eze

    But garaf innit

Largely depends if he's thinking attack minded or defensive ... if defensive I agree with you ...

Defensively he as solid as you can ask for although He was very attacking on the left for us last season when robbo was out for a while but he was playing as an inverted fullback in a klopp team to be fair and garaf is about as far away from klopp as you can get so broken Luke shaw and saka it is then<laugh><doh>

Indeed, doing what you suggest takes initiative and courage, and Garaf is sadly lacking both of those traits.

No surprise, Jim Rat backed Brexit and as soon as it happened he moved his business over to the EU and everyone got fired.

Looking at the figures for Man Utd, they do seem over staffed, and to me that number of redundancies based on other Premier League Clubs seems reasonable, dependent on their workload compared to those other clubs ie being a 'bigger' club.

Would I do it, probably - dependent on who they let go.

From what I read voluntary redundancy and a guarantee of receipt of your annual bonus was also offered, so maybe handy to someone who has been there long term and thinking of calling it a day - however, that deadline has now passed, and it's reported take up was low, but I've seen no figures given for that.

When you think about players transfer fees and wages, it's mind boggling to think administration can have such an affect on budget, but hey ho, it;s the way of the world...or football in general.

Not broke enough that they can't cover our FFP deficit with big money for a DoF...

They've also stated, to quell the Twitter outrage, that the savings will go on the first team - Ok Jim. Mind you, the average Manchester United fan won't give a **** about the employment status of people that live in Manchester.
