How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

If we're looking left wing to right wing?

Greens............LibDems.....Labour..........................Tory..Reform

Shows how limited a left to right spectrum is; the Lib Dems privatised Royal Mail ffs, that’s how left wing they are.

Labour, meanwhile, are committed to introduce a worker’s rights bill to Parliament in their first 100 days, which is democratic socialism at it’s best.

I posted my Top 5 Tories scalps wish list the other day.

1. Rees Mogg
2. Rishi
3. Suella Braverman
4. Mark Francois
5. Bill Cash

Not sure if Bill Cash is dead, so I might swap him for my local MP Derek Thomas who I sincerely hope is scalped.

Think Bill Cash is dead but still an MP. Same for Ian Duncan Smith, who was odds on to lose his seat, but there’s been some Labour infighting as the local guy was jettisoned for his pro Palestine Twitter action.

I don't even remember Portillo losing his seat, don't remember anything about it or him. I'd care even less if Rees-Mogg dropped dead tomorrow, let alone win or lose a seat.

I'm not sure if I can be arsed to stay up and watch it, because it's so late but will see, even if I did, it would only be for the overall numbers and swing, not which celebrity mp has won or lost a seat, although can see some amusement in it now you mention it.

I remember the Portillo moment really well because Stephen Twigg, the Labour candidate, had visited my workplace the week before. And he came back after getting elected, don’t think he ever quite got over the surprise. Enfield Southgate, think the Tories won it again in 2010 then Bambos Charalambous won it back for Labour in 2017. There’s money in them there hills, was true blue for years, but in London the comfortable middle classes don’t vote Tory anymore.

Is making up a load of bull **** about a certain countries nuclear capability and then invading the country causing the death of hundreds of thousands of people, a left wing thing to do?

Apart from in Medway a load of Labour voters aren't going to get their postal votes in time. <laugh> (affects all parties obviously).

They might have sorted it now, but must be causing a hell of a lot of confusion, when they realise they might be best dropping it into a polling station.

You have that completely the wrong way round. Quality of service figures, which were streets ahead of all it’s rivals before privatisation, have collapsed in recent years. The only thing going up is the cost of a stamp. The service is on it’s arse mate, and the figures show it.

Surprised nobody mentioned Jeremy Hunt unless I missed it.

He's ****ting it. One of the more likely to go.

Tbf, Royal Mail is shhite now, post seems to take ages arriving, and have had stuff stolen as well, oops sorry I mean lost.

Use to know the time by the postman arriving because he was so punctual, like clockwork. Now it arrives when it does.

I'm justing winding the dickhead up

I knew he was a postman

I'll watch the exit poll.

Then I may stay up to watch the first few results come in. They reckon first one will be about 10.50pm.

What I want to know is which result will show how bad or less bad the night will be for the tories OR how good or huge it'll be for Labour? There's always one result they talk about. I remember in 1992 when I think it was David Ames who either won or held the seat and that was a key indicator Major was going to remain PM. I'm sure there was an opposite result somewhere in 1997 which indicated a landslide for Blair... think it was Gillingham.

I'm the same, watch the exit poll, go to bed and just read the details the next day.

Rehman Chishti is/was the current MP for Medway (Gillingham & Rainham)

Also a Gillingham fan.

For a laugh I went to uk.isidewith.com to see what an impersonal algorithm thought I should vote for.

Labour won with a 69% match.
But I'm joint 2nd on 62% with Lib Dems, Greens and... wait for it... Scottish Socialists (bet they don't have an Eddisbury representative)! <ok>
Then trailing them Sinn Fein, UKIP, Reform, and Women's Equality Party. Conservatives were way down the list in 13th place! <laugh>

I fact checked this ... your top match was the Women's Equality Party ... you've been fibbing...

... and proof of the old adage that 'you can lead a whore to culture, but you can't make it think' ... or was it something to do with a horse? ... oh well, it's late...
