Im of a vintage when I remember us being as big or bigger than Spurs arsenal scum etc and we kept our quality. that's the Leeds I still love and support. But this bshit of fans celebrating getting 40m for our top talent, I will never support or agree with. We've been a second rate club for 20 years and will continue to be at this rate. Not my cup of tea at all
Same old vintage eire...but unfortunately football isn't the same beast as it was back in the halcyon days of the revie tenure.... Leeds/Liverpool were the two big rivals, but it was also a bit more shared around to, spurs never were the biggest tbh the gunners have always lauded it over the spuds and even before the ruski landed at Chelsea I would have put them as bigger than the kids.
we are no longer at the top table and consequently we have to cut our cloth to suit and at present we are a selling club who in the past have been abysmal with dealings in and out, the yanks won't like to be sub par for much longer they'll want to see some progress and the greenbacks flooding in... it's all about the money :emoticon-0148-yes:

Pretty obvious by now we are about to see an almost complete rebuild of last seasons team/squad. Looks like they are concentrating on moving players out before anyone comes in?

So far we have Rodon and Struijk as CB starters and thats it in defence as it looks like Firpo is going. We then have Ampadu and Rutter as we are not sure that Gruev and Kamara are staying. Summerville and Gnonto possibly going plus story on Bamford going to Saudi, which then leaves Dan James and maybe Joseph as Piroe apparently maybe sold?

Arabs are a bit thick but not that thick, they won’t throw money at a second rate striker who is injured 50/60% of the season, we are stuck with Bamford I’m afraid :emoticon-0106-cryin

Finally to put the Archie Gray transfer into perspective, Chelsea have just signed Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester for £30 million so even getting promoted doesn’t stop the “big boys” from taking your best players (though how Chelsea comply with PSR is a mystery even Aski can’t solve). Point is I think he wanted the move and maybe would have done so even if we’d gone up. Because of the Gray name we all have the romantic view that he’d want to be a one-club man like Eddie, let’s be honest with the money nowadays those players are very few and far between.

I don't think we'll ever know the full truth behind the Gray saga, even to the extent of the supposed release clause, did he or the club insist on it? Are the Gray dynasty as pissed off as we're led to believe? Did Archie go kicking and screaming, or did he see it as a chance to progress his career?
It's done now and £40m is a very decent fee, KDH to Chelsea£30m , Cole Palmer £42.5m as comparisons.
Not on here but elsewhere it's amazing how many fans are happy to blame the club on this without knowing any facts, some supposed itk posts something that in reality they can't possibly know but it's believed and used to beat the club, let's see where we are come August the 10th, Farke said players will be in place ready for the kick off, if they're not, then you can start bemoaning the hierarchy, I think I'll wait until then.
A release clause is agreed upon from both parties. If one says no, then there be no release clause. The Gray´s would no what is in his contract. So all this stuff abour the Gray´s being piss off is just BS. And if they was, then they can STFU because they knew what was in his contrect.
A lot of fans need to take big ****ing chill pill and move the **** on. Is it sad that he whent? Ofcause it is, but there is no need to get your knickers in a twist because of it.
Lets´s sell Gnoto and Summerville and get Bamford and Cooper out and start bringing players in.

Financially we certainly have to go up this season, not that the club are skint but we'll have to have a firesale to comply with psr, not sure how much of the £40m we can use but it seems we will still have to sell one more to finance any more purchases. Gnonto for £30m , what the club are supposedly asking, should do it.
And to think that some fans want us to stay in the Championship and keep hold of all the players it´s ridiculous<doh>

Just looked at the lufc web site and it looks as though pre-season consists of 5-a-side

Players still on leave some been on international duty so no big deal really. Our welsh lads will have had a rest. Rodon likes being around his team mates.
