I just refuse to slaughter the manager, it achieves nowt other than make ourselves feel good some how.

No you won't, it;s been like it since 66...no trophy...blame the system...he merely does the job how he knows best. You might not like it, but it's how he rolls, just suck it up until the people at the top get their act together, the manager is just a scapegoat
