Well yes, he was right in his prediction. But what he was actually saying was that 'we' shouldn't have allowed countries to join the EU or NATO. We should have appeased the bear.
I agree, that’s not entirely clear, but the EU can have an evangelical character like the early Christians. I’m sure there were approaches to Ukraine and Georgia to bring them into the EU fold, as well as the usual CIA stuff from the US. Farage would have avoided offering them the possibility of formal membership to keep the buffer with Russia.
