I think you just remember them as they were rather than that of the changing of time.

I'd call them by their correct name, but I still think of them as Czechoslovakia, the same as I remember Yugoslavia, and still think of all them states as it now. Zaire, I remember them from the 1974 WC but it's now the DRC...East Germany/West Germany, yup them to, but would always refer to them as Germany now. I suppose I can see how people might be offended by failing to call them by their most recent name though. I'm sure there is many I've not mentioned, just showing our ages. Don't even get me started on the USSR #NoPoliticsPlease
