The SAFC model will not get us promoted. Its a shop window to develop prospects.
Based on?

We haven't even sold anyone for a big fee yet. The model hasn't even begun.

Every club in the world outside of probably 4 are selling clubs.

People look at Coventry and want us to spend like they do without acknowledging the fact they brought in over 40million last summer. You have to sell to buy.

I don't know this guy, so no point in saying if he is good or not, also no point having any preconceived ideas about how it might go with him.....All that said... If this goes tits up early in the season, given how long this search for the right guy has taken..there will no hiding place for the owner and KS.. He seriously needs backing to hilt by the Board, he needs to be given a chance to succeed. I'm aware there's small percentage of our fan base who will blindly accept anything from KLD/KS but the majority in the SOL will be watching and expecting from day one

We are only buying 22 years olds an younger and got rid of our experinenced players...the SAFC aim was 5 years to get promoted..were going to miss that...the aim is were you hold people to account.

Le Bris...looking from the outside in seems...an uninspiring yes man, who will do what he is told and work in the model with the current SAFC set up.

He will have my full backing...however of it goes wrong my feelings to the Board and Speakman will be off the scale.

Because the project has derailed over the last 12/18 months.

Wonder how many have been put off by Speakmans insistance on keeping Dodds and Proctor?
It's beyond belief we are running with this model. Relegation zone here we come.

ah so i guess this board is gonna be full of the speakman conspiracy again. Great.

We got playoffs with this model man and we haven't even had the big sale yet where we get to reinvest so quite literally no-one has a clue until then

He has had 120 days to really get this right. Appointing someone who has been relegated from the french league with 2 years head coaching experience is beyond a risk.

Love how hes getting written off already, being called a yes man, only appointing him because he fits in with the model etc.

We should want a manager that fits a model, you want everyone on the same page as thats the only way youll get success. Brighton get praised loads but they appoint people to fit into a model, most succesful teams do that!

Most havent heard of him, or have seen his team play yet look on Wikipedia see that he got relegated and say its an unambitious appointment.

This guy didnt have a great season last yr, the football seemed to change and i think that was down to 2 things - poor recruitment and him not adapting well enough. The season before he had a cracking season, played some great stuff and really developed the young players there - thats what we need

The recruitment search has gone on far too long, Still was the clear no1 target and they have seem to panic (from outside looking in at least) since then and got back to the drawing board

I suspect this guy has always been high on their list, he has a cracking reputation in france for developing young players and that fits with our squad

Time will tell if he is a success n the right appointment with us but none of us know that at the minute so he deserves our full support

Just a thought...

We've been crying out for a manager who will challenge Speakman...we've wanted anything other than a yes man for years.

But where has that got us?

Last 3 permanent coaches...

Alex Neil: Not a yes man. Wanted to do things his own way, challenged Speakman and the board at his first transfer window and left just after.

Tony Mowbray: Had us playing good football, but also wasn't a yes man. Fought with the board and wanted his own way. Ended up leaving after falling out with the board and going on a bit of a ****e run.

Michael Beale: Not really a yes man. Was also vocal that we needed different signings. Was rightly or wrongly never given a chance, and then sacked.

Maybe for a change, we could do with a yes man...and having every aspect of the club totally on the same wavelength. It's abuntantly clear that the club aren't going to change our approach. So we need to hire a coach who is of the same thinking, who can bounce off Speakman and vice versa. It's pointless going for someone who will challenge the board...we need to all come together.

EDIT: Posted this without seeing a few people before me basically said the exact same thing in far less words <doh>

Spot on. I've definitely over-reacted. Which I think is natural after such a wait.

Gets my full support.

Ah so you can see into the future?

Just because the club are doing something different to what you want them to be doing, which by the way the thing you want them to be doing is what put us in league one, doesn't mean it's destined to fail.

I agree I want Speakman gone, but I want the model to remain, infact I want us to go further into it. Should be aiming to sell one or two players every summer to fund both of that seasons windows. Until we do that we won't improve, but then people will just say we are a selling club.
