We've been linked with him a couple of times over the past 4 weeks.

According to reports Stoke City are battling Tottenham Hotspur for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Junior Hoilett.

The Mirror claims Potters boss Tony Pulis is eyeing the Canadian whose current contract expires next summer.

He has yet to sign a new deal despite months of discussions which has lead to speculation that he will leave in January.

Rovers boss Steve Kean wants Hoilett to stay, saying: "I have spoken to the boy over a number of months. I have left it with the directors to get it boxed off. Hopefully we can get his deal tied up.

"He wants to play for us. If we don't [agree a deal], I'm sure he will have offers. But hopefully we can push it over the line.

"There is bound to be interest, it's not just a performance with him, it's performance after performance.

"If he is not scoring, he is creating chances."

Interesting, he has been getting rave reviews recently, have to say although I only saw the game on TV, he didn't look that 'special' to me.

Mind you, he will not come up against the mighty Potters every week <yikes>

Apparently he's got a 15m buy out clause, so i doubt we will get him before the summer.

It will never happen in a million years. Sorry but that's just an effort to win a few brownie points by Pulis by making himself look ambitious.

He looked pretty good to me, but plays more of wide/wing role (I thought) - we NEED CM's!

i think hoilett is a good player now, but has potential to be an exceptional player, easily capable of playing in the champions league.

he's not a stoke type of player though, he's only 5 8" and it looks like spurs will go for him.

I thought he looked a decent player but..IF Spurs get him I would like Pav from Spurs. I thought we might go for him last summer but.... In fact, I was told when I was at the Mich training ground on deadline evening when Crouch signed that we were trying for Pav and at one point. Rob Dorset from Sky Sports said it was almost a done deal.. I've been curios ever since but of course we did get Palacios?

Pennant's only 5"8 as well. Pulis tends to not be as picky with his wingers. I reckon he'll go to Spurs though.

We do also need wingers though. So long as we don't blow all our budget on one player!
