Strange one tbh - we've got 3 of the Danish squad plus Faes, Pereira and Souttar and James Justin that are all full internationals that could play in the defence next season... Midfield of full internationals (Ndidi, Soumare and Winks) plus Dewsbury-Hall and 3 very good academy prospects in McAteer, Alves and Braybrooke... Very exciting wingers - who personally I think are both better / have more potential than Hudson-Odoi for instance ... We sold Chris Wood because he wasn't going to get regular games - Vardy would still be a preference over him for me ... and Tom Cannon looked good in his few appearances last season ... jury still out on Daka ... We need to add no doubt - but quality wise - only measure I have is that the current squad is better, both in terns of depth and quality, than the one we came up with in 2013/14 ..
The rumours/ reports were suggesting his settlement agreement provides for mega dosh - but with a clause that has an immediate stop on signing a contract ...
My memory of Cooper with Forest was, mind numbing boring ****e, your players have too much flair for him imo. Think you may see a few changes that you may scratch your head at.
He may be out of work for a long time in that case, unless Newcastle wanted him, can't see anyone paying anywhere near what Chelsea paid him.
The Maresca compensation package - £10 million pure profit - has, allegedly, led to any transfer embargo - which may anyway have been more conjecture than fact - being lifted - although some of the players / prices we are being linked with look daft given FFP / profit and sustainability situation ...
Personally I'll give him the first 10 games to show what he's about - irrespective of results - how a manager reacts - tactics / substitutions to situations in game times is my usual, personal judgement, barometer ... Ranieri and Martin O'Neil were both very good on that side - Brendan Rodgers less so ... and Maresca's decisions on that front also set a few alarm bells ringing ...
You paid £7.5 m for him…. Wow, Everton had the clubs pants down on that deal. But any benefit was going to be offest on Lampard getting in Maupay!!
Faes is awful mate. If he’s part of your first choice defence then I feel extremely sorry for you. Perreira and Justin are good players but made of biscuit. Winks is a Championship midfielder, you’ll see that this season and Vardy for as great as he was, I doubt he’d make a huge impact anymore in the Prem.
Leicester not getting Potter just seems like a complete disaster. I assume Potter knew his Chelsea contract terms before going for the interview. If so, did he hope Leicester were serious about their investment and could stump up on the asking price to counter the Chelsea terms, for Leicester only in reality able to afford Steve Cooper. The mind boggles, especially if managers don't know the detail in their contracts or maybe Potter was just testing the water and it was freezing cold up in the Midlands.. Edit: Just seen Peej comment saying they got £10M compo, so where's that gone, on debt?
That famous Lesta Yoof really are gonna need to produce a few stars if he’s seriously relying on some of those players he’s listed.
He's only had limited game time with us (arrived with back injury) - but I've liked what I've seen - he's quick and has got a rocket in his boots - now a full Irish international ...
Kasey McAteer broke into the first team last season and looks a good prospect - but the big noise is about Will Alves who is an England U20 prospect and a real baller - had 12 months out following a dreadful tackle which left him with ACL damage but is now back and had a great end to the season ...
Bobby Ball you say. He is an exciting England under 15 international who because of family links is now an upcoming Bermudan U17 player. He has made the bench on 4 separate occasions now. Leicester Yoof!
