England aren't a big nation.. they are deluded! No trophy since before the moon landing...no historical success.
Serbia are not going to just roll over and let us tickle their belly. There’s a certain ex magpie playing (potentially) up front for them.
Thing is I don’t mind England doing well at stuff, would like to see Gordon and Tripps have good tournaments and hope they get through it all injury free. Not particularly a cricket fan but certainly back England over the Aussies at the ashes etc.
Can just imagine that at the Wedding night time do. Hamish: Aye, I’m pleased the Sassenachs got through on the cricket. Jock: Och aye, that’s a fair point, wee laddie. Dougal: Ye Ken, ah totally agree and I hope they do well in the Euros, they deserve to. Hamish: Och aye the noo.
To be fair the majority of them were pissing themselves laughing at the crap you lot were sending me on what’s app. That tik tok chippy sent went down a storm
I’ve just said this to the lads and the bairn (sorry Toonboy) couldn’t resist. Wtf is going on? Dog **** players having moments in 2024. Joselu, Wood, Ayoze and Weghorst
Now somebody tell me that the general quality of players hasn’t dropped over the last number of years.
I don’t. I think it’s the fact that managers are given signings as opposed to signing players to fit in with their philosophy. It is why having Howe making big decisions on signings is important. He has a style of play in mind. And only certain types of players fit in with that. Its why I think if Willock can stay fit next season he will be colossal for us.
I’m assuming you’re saying the standard hasn’t dropped. Apologies if I have read your post incorrectly. Joselu, Weighurst and Perez are not international quality no matter who the manager is nor what the tactics are. I’m not saying they are bad players but it’s all relative. Think Holland 1970 to 1978. Think Spain 2008 to 2014. These 3 wouldn’t get anywhere near those squads. Standards, like nostalgia, aren’t what they used to be.
Weighorst I have always rated quite highly. Perez was good for us. Joselu is now a cult hero for Real Madrid.
