I backed Hungary and btts at 7/1 last night.

Italy are really strong this tournament. I think they’ll win comfortably tonight.

Spain might just have enough to beat Croatia. Close game to call, though.

Well thank you for sharing your thought process around your FF team Fosse but I'm not really sure that's relevant tbh.

I see you've also now changed your argument from 'not sure if Kane would get in Germany team ahead of Fulkrug' to "I think Fulkrug will have a better tournament'. Which is a different discussion and a more reasonable viewpoint.

I'm still confused why you brought up Kane's lack of trophies as well. I'm assuming you thought Fulkrug had won something?

He’s won a place in our hearts with his performances for whichever German team he plays for unless he plays somewhere else but I’ve been watching him loads this season honestly. Wouldn’t recognise the bloke if he punched me in the face but the guardian football podcast said he’d score a few.

Like that first bet. Hungary are my dark horse after about five minutes of research and listening to a variety of podcasts.

Austria and Romania are my outsiders. Hungary create loads of chances but also really **** in defence. Should be a good game.

Not changed my argument at all - you said on the England thread that nobody had a better front 4 than England ... and I don't agree - I only see Bellingham in that category although I am a big fan of Foden

The FF team reflects my thoughts - England's prospects have been overhyped at just about every tournament I've seen - and I go back to 1970 - as fans we seem to have learned nothing and the 'Golden Generation' was the worst of it ...

So no, I wouldn't have Harry Kane in my best XI and I wonder whether he would slow down the fluidity of the Germans we witnessed last night (as I think he has at times at Spurs and for England) - whereas Fulkrug certainly didn't do that - if anything they looked even better when he came on, although you could argue that the Scots were completely knackered by then ...

So back to my original post - and again, it's all about opinions - Bellingham would get in my Germany XI - although I'd want Wirtz and Musiala in it too - Kane would not - Rice as the holding midfielder would probably be the only other automatic for me, because to include Foden I'd have to leave out the 2 I've mentioned - and they are excellent...

You don’t build a FF team based on who you think are the best players for **** sake.

True ... but you do build it on what you think will be the best point scorers in your fomation (given budgetary constraints)...

...but the main reason for referencing it was Libby questioning how many times I had seen Fulkrug play - enough to have him alongside every other player in that team - all of whom have impressed me in watching them ... <cheers>

How many times?

Couldn't say for sure - probably double figure domestic matches and also some European games over the last 2 seasons - as I've mentioned before - don't have Sky but do have BT/TNT as part of my TV package - so get to see more European games Germany/France/Italy than I do PL games - German league is the one I tend to watch most of the 3, as the grounds are always packed and the atmosphere great ... and they also play a more exciting brand of football than the Italians ...

Put it this way, apart from highlights and the odd Prem game shown on BT / European games - I don't see that much of PL teams ... so I may have a bias <laugh>

Wonder what’s the odds for less goals total in those games than last nights

Musiala is a traitor. Should be playing with the 3 lions on his chest.

If he could get in the team over Rashford, of course.

I’d have just said I’d lobbed him in as I needed a striker and he’s Germany’s main proper striker rather than this elaborate lie but you do you.
