I feel like because we recruit young players from wherever they can be found, this means some people think a northern coach is somehow backwards or at odds with the recruitment. It's just mad.

I fear our Head Coach recruitment has gone the way of our player recruitment.

We talk about player models. We talk about head coach succession planning. We talk about it because we know its the right thing to do.

But we can't execute. We don't know how to. So we end up with players that don't reflect the player model. And we end up with Head Coaches that don't reflect succession planning.
I look forward to seeing which French teenager we give the job to

I just hope we get it done, whether that is Marti, Lampard or Heck. Football is a fickle sport, if we had the time we have had now to talk about mowbray before appointing him, he had just been sacked by Blackburn after failing to achieve playoffs, we would all be screaming no, but look what he did.

Just get someone in, crack on and if we have a good window who knows what can happen.

It's got nothing to do with where he's from. Dave Challinor is from Chester, which is only slightly more southerly than Barnsley and he'd be a much more exciting appointment.

What's most frustrating for me, is that if Hecky got announced, the uproar will be pretty horrific, mostly on social media of course.

And to the wider football community it will be Sunderland fans getting painted as being toxic again. They'll just seen Sunderland fans "protesting" against two consecutive managerial appointments and say we expect too much etc. They won't see any of the ridiculous context that got us to this point.

Blackburn didn’t sack Mowbray but I get your point.

The fans need to be buck broken. Hire Heck on a 10 year deal and post laughing GIFs on social media with "nowt you can do about it" and "never ever be sacked, no matter what you do" flashing on the screen. Idiots man.

Just got told this and it's a canny fact - "Xavier Calm was at Birmingham with speakman and Dodds and Cifuentes took him to QPR and was the only one he brought with him to QPR"

That's a good link that. Just googled and it looks like Speakman hired him at Birmingham. Might be that they can all get on the same page with our set up.
