IIRC it was Man Utd getting a load of outside investment that had **** all to do with success or income.
More like your own selective amnesia. IIRC you had some guy doing keepie ups on the pitch, all the fans cheering because he offered you enough money to buy success, when it turned out he was skint you got it from some foreign investors instead.
Why do you feel the need to convince United fans of anything? I've had a little read back about the great revival of Chelsea and Newcastle. A few have pointed out that both won fck all. I'll add this, on the morning of the cup final, City were on for the double, Chelsea were in the Europy and Newcastle were in the Conference. In one punch not only did he piss on City's parade, but he also knocked Chelsea into the Conference and jettisoned Newcastle into oblivion. Like Muhammad Ali in the rumble in the jungle. Written off by everyone. Soaking up the punches of a bohemoth. On the ropes. Punch after punch. Then just when you think it's only a matter, at its lowest ebb... slowly but surely you hear the beat of the drums, feint at first but then they get louder. And louder, until that's all you can hear, the zulu chiefs are working their voodoo magic, the rise of the succubus, come to haunt the motherfckas. And BOOM... just stand and watch the man go down like a piece of poetry. Knockout. Yeh, it's like that. Ssshhhh don't say anything, just listen carefully...can you hear them Bod, can you hear the drums? It's all about the glam baby! That's what United has always been about. please log in to view this image
It's a great situation for us now ..one game a week.... once the dust settled and you realise you still might have to play Longstaff due to rotation it became a win.
Had a couple of beers last night and got talked into ordering a season ticket Anyone know if the 14 day cool off period applies to football tickets?
You can keep telling yourself this as much as you want, it won't make it true. What actually happened is, after two failed attempts for the club to be purchased (Maxwell was the other) the club became a plc and accrued money through shares. That's it. Perfectly legal and legitimate, any club at that time could have done the same. No one 'gave' us money. As it goes, it worked until the Glazers hoovered up the shares and it's since gone tits up, but at no point did Sky, Murdoch, the Premier league or anyone else 'unfairly' give United money. So no, you don't recall correctly. You made it up.
lol Theres no revival for us my friend. Any revival that was on the cards was then neutered when they got rid of Poch. We MIGHT get 4th next year if we are lucky, as might you. I think thats the best either club can hope for next season. Maybe 3rd if Liverpool flop under their new manager.
